About the role
As our presence across Europe continues to grow, we are looking for a Partnerships Associate to work directly alongside Ryan Donaldson, Private Wealth Partner, with an initial focus on the Algarve.
Your main responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with accountants, lawyers, estate agents, mortgage brokers, relocation specialists, business owners, clubs and other professional introducers across the Algarve.
You will represent Ryan and Skybound Wealth in the local market, create opportunities for professional collaboration and make sure every introduction is handled properly. This is an active sales role where you will be held responsible for building and developing a pipeline of opportunities, with regular check-in points and statistical analysis carried out on each stage of the process.
You will also provide practical support behind the scenes. That means keeping opportunities organised, preparing for meetings and events, coordinating follow-up and making sure good introductions do not go cold.
You will open doors, build trust and help move relationships forward. Ryan will remain responsible for providing financial advice.
What you will be responsible for
Building professional partnerships
You will identify and develop relationships with:
- Accountancy and tax firms
- Law firms and legal professionals
- Estate agencies and property professionals
- Mortgage brokers and lenders
- Relocation and residency specialists
- Business and professional networks
- Golf clubs, sports clubs and expatriate communities
- Other organisations serving affluent international clients
The aim is not just to collect business cards. It is to build a smaller number of meaningful, productive relationships that generate value for both parties over the long term.
You will agree clear next steps with potential partners, maintain regular contact and make sure relationships continue to move forward after the first meeting.
Generating quality introductions
You will help create a consistent flow of relevant introductions to Ryan.
This may include introductions generated through professional partners, local events, seminars, community relationships and existing networks.
You may also contact warm prospects who have been introduced to Skybound Wealth or who have attended an event.
Success will be measured by the quality of the opportunities created, not simply the amount of activity recorded.
Representing Skybound locally
You will become a visible and credible representative of Ryan and Skybound within the Algarve.
This will include attending networking events, visiting professional firms, participating in local business communities and developing opportunities for joint events or educational sessions.
You must be comfortable introducing yourself, explaining what Skybound does and building rapport with experienced professionals and affluent international clients.
Supporting events and seminars
You will work with Ryan and the wider Skybound team to organise professional and client events across the region.
This may include:
- Identifying suitable event themes and audiences
- Developing events with professional partners
- Coordinating venues, invitations and registrations
- Preparing presentation and meeting materials
- Supporting Ryan during presentations and seminars
- Following up properly with attendees after each event
- Reviewing which events generated genuine opportunities
The objective is not to run events for appearance’s sake. Each event should strengthen a relationship, educate the right audience or create a credible commercial opportunity.
Managing opportunities and follow-through
Good relationships are easily wasted through poor follow-up. A major part of this role is making sure that does not happen.
You will:
- Coordinate introductory meetings
- Keep the opportunity pipeline and CRM records current
- Prepare relevant information ahead of meetings
- Track agreed actions and next steps
- Coordinate follow-up communications
- Support the preparation of presentations and partnership proposals
- Ensure introductions are acknowledged and handled professionally
- Help maintain a consistently strong experience for partners and prospective clients
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is confident, credible and comfortable building relationships face to face.
You may already have experience in professional services, financial services, property, relocation, accountancy, legal services, private client work, hospitality, membership organisations or another relationship-led sector.
More important than the precise industry is your ability to build trust with the right people and turn conversations into long-term professional relationships.
You should have:
- Experience in partnerships, relationship management, consultative sales or business development
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The confidence to approach and meet senior professionals
- A natural ability to develop relationships without appearing overly transactional
- Strong commercial judgment and an understanding of what makes a partnership worthwhile
- Excellent organisation and follow-through
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of your activity
- Confidence using a CRM and maintaining an accurate opportunity pipeline
- A professional manner when dealing with affluent international clients
- High levels of integrity, discretion and personal responsibility
- Fluency in English
- Portuguese language skills or an established local network would be a strong advantage
