About SkyGeo

We provide our clients with essential geotechnical insights that allow them to understand very early how ground movement will impact their valuable assets. We have built an excellent and diverse team to approach InSAR increasingly as a professional service.

To keep getting better at providing these insights at scale, we need the best people working with us. We are looking for colleagues who want to help build the business and to grow professionally by discovering a wide range of applications.

Your Role & Impact

Our Data Analytics team is looking for a Lead InSAR engineer with ambition! Your strong quantitative skills will help you to apply our technology in projects and with your passion for Geoscience and innovation you’ll help us develop our range of products to serve our internal and external stakeholders as best as we can.

For this position you will be working from our head office in Delft, the Netherlands.

Your main responsibilities

You will work with our customers to find new ways to implement and integrate our data into geotechnical engineering practices. Your focus will be on:

  • Processing, modeling and visualization of InSAR data
  • Collaborating with customers and partners on using InSAR for complex projects
  • Implementing and improving existing algorithms
  • Providing (technical) support to our commercial and Data Analytics team
  • Coach and train junior colleagues.

We offer an opportunity to:

  • Bring in your experience, technical skills and vision to build a next-generation Earth Observation business and applications.
  • Apply SAR to real-world problems (e.g. civil engineering, energy industry, mining)
  • Work with all SAR datasets (commercial and open source) and with various beam modes
  • Learn from and further develop our state-of-the-art object-oriented InSAR processor
  • Work with a wide variety of colleagues and customers: civil engineers, geomatic engineers, computer scientists, geophysicists, geodesists, geologists
  • Publish your work in the scientific community.

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for a great team player, with an entrepreneurial mindset, who is comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. Besides your outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, and your ability to focus on deadlines and results, we like you to bring:

  • A Ph.D. degree in engineering, signal processing, remote sensing or equivalent education.
  • At least 3 years experience of working with InSAR data, preferably in a professional company with project management/customer-facing environment.
  • Broad experience with coregistration, amplitude, and InSAR processing software packages
  • A full understanding of all parts of an advanced SAR/InSAR processing chain, including all elements of DInSAR, SBAS and PSI processing, for the application of different processing approaches to problems in civil engineering, slope stability, mining, and oil and gas.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of digital signal processing.
  • Experience with GIS environments (QGIS, ArcGIS etc.)
  • Experience working with other remote sensing data (optical, multi-spectral, LIDAR) or topographic data is an advantage
  • Knowledge of geodetic surveying techniques and GPS/GNSS data processing is an advantage
  • Software development experience, preferably with Python, and using object-oriented programming is an advantage
  • Excellent written and oral reporting skills, while continuous communication with colleagues is a key part of this position.

What's in it for you?

  • A job that matters in a dynamic environment with a scale-up approach
  • An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
  • An international and ambitious team (10+ nationalities)
  • A lot of freedom for initiative, personal & career growth

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
