The posting

The world still has coverage blind spots. You could help eliminate them at Skylo.

Skylo has pioneered a standards-based approach to satellite connectivity. We connect smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites. No special hardware, no entirely new networks. Just billions of existing devices, suddenly reachable anywhere on Earth. We're not building toward this future. We're already in it.

Our direct-to-device service is live on millions of activated devices across five continents, covering more than 72 million square kilometers, in partnership with leading satellite operators, mobile network operators, Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs worldwide. And we're just getting started.

At the heart of it all is Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN: a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native platform that seamlessly bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. It's the infrastructure that makes true anywhere, anytime connectivity possible.

When you join Skylo, you'll work at the intersection of three markets reshaping how the world stays connected: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT. Enabling people outdoors and critical workflows in the world's most remote places.

This is a rare chance to work on technology that matters, at a company that's already proving it works

Skylo Technologies is a global NTN service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites. Skylo works with existing satellite operators, network operators, and device makers to provide subscribers with a connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks anywhere, anytime. Skylo’s focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows for machines across critical industries such as agriculture, maritime, logistics, mining, and others, in addition to mass-market consumer devices.

Skylo is hiring a Staff Ground Station Infrastructure Manager for our network implementation team. Reporting directly to the Director of Network Implementation, the selected candidate will own the Install, deployment, and lifecycle management of Skylo’s global ground station infrastructure. The role includes planning, building, commissioning, and monitoring ground station sites in partnership with satellite operators, colocation providers, and equipment vendors worldwide. This is a terrific opportunity for a candidate who wants to make a visible impact in the dynamic environment of an early-stage startup focused on an exploding market segment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Own end-to-end infrastructure for Skylo’s global ground station footprint, from site review through commissioning and steady-state operations.

- Define site requirements and standards for power, UPS/generator backup, HVAC, grounding, physical security, and rack/shelter layouts.

- Oversee installation of network systems, RF chains, baseband and server equipment, and site networking (fiber, backhaul, redundant connectivity).

- Lead Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and handover to operations with complete as-built documentation.

- Manage vendors, integrators, and colocation partners — scope, schedules, SOWs, and on-site execution across multiple countries and time zones.

- Maintain an accurate inventory and spares strategy for ground station hardware, RF equipment, and site assets.

- Drive site audits, safety compliance, regulatory and licensing coordination, and equipment certifications.

- Serve as the escalation point for site-level incidents, outages, and critical infrastructure issues.

- Plan and execute site upgrades, capacity expansions, and technology refreshes.

- Build repeatable deployment playbooks, MOPs, and automation to scale rollouts efficiently.

- Mentor engineers and field teams; set technical direction for ground station infrastructure.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in deploying and managing satellite ground stations, teleports, or telecom/data center infrastructure.

- Expertise in RF systems, antenna installation, site power and environmental systems, structured cabling, and site infrastructure monitoring.

- Proven track record of multi-site, multi-country deployments with external vendors and partners.

- Familiar with infrastructure automation, monitoring tools, and Git-based workflows.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and optimization skills across RF, infrastructure, and network layers.

- Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills in cross-functional environments.

- Willingness to travel internationally to ground station sites.

- Ability to work well with people around the globe and be both highly motivated and motivating.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
