The posting

We are SLR Consulting (Americas), a 1500+ team of advisory, environmental, engineering, and regulatory professionals across the United States, Canada, and LATAM. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are Making Sustainability Happen.

As our new Early Career Environmental/Civil Engineer, you will play an important role on a multidisciplinary team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

You will work closely with senior engineering and environmental professionals and project managers to support complex environmental permitting and engineering projects, with a particular focus on large-scale permitting efforts for mining, natural resources, and other industrial projects. This role provides an opportunity to develop both technical environmental/civil engineering expertise and practical project management skills while supporting projects from planning and baseline studies through permit application development and agency review.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and coordination of environmental permit applications, technical reports, supporting studies, agency submittals, and other permitting deliverables.
  • Assist senior engineering and environmental professionals with technical analyses, engineering calculations, data evaluation, and preparation of technical documentation.
  • Support large, multidisciplinary projects from initial planning and baseline studies through application development, agency review, and permitting.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules; track key milestones, dependencies, deliverables, deadlines, and action items.
  • Assist project managers with project controls, including budget and progress tracking, forecasting, scope management, and project status reporting.
  • Coordinate technical inputs and deliverables across environmental, civil, water resources, geotechnical, mining, and other disciplines.
  • Support coordination with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, maintain action-item logs, and follow up with project team members to support timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assist with management of permitting documentation, agency correspondence, review comments, commitments, submittals, and project records.
  • Review and prepare reports, technical memoranda, presentations, calculations, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, data collection, and other field activities, as required.
  • Prepare project estimates, schedules, and reports.
  • Contribute to proposals and other business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with professionals across SLR's environmental, engineering, and advisory disciplines.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
