Smappee (Smart Appliance for Energy Efficiency) helps businesses and individuals take control of their energy consumption. Through innovative energy management and EV charging solutions, we make energy efficiency accessible, helping reduce costs and contributing to a more sustainable future.
What does it mean to work at Smappee?
At Smappee, we take ownership, collaborate openly, and communicate transparently. We stand behind our commitments and aren’t afraid to experiment, challenge ideas, and grow through change.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for services and payment solutions, translating Smappee’s strategic ambitions into clear priorities.
- Identify and validate opportunities for new services and recurring or transaction-based revenue, based on customer needs, market developments and business potential.
- Build business cases and define pricing, packaging and commercial models, balancing customer value, revenue potential, profitability and cost to serve.
- Develop service offerings across payment solutions, subscriptions and service level agreements (SLAs), working with relevant teams to define scope, customer commitments and delivery requirements.
- Translate opportunities into clear requirements and priorities, working closely with engineering and other teams throughout discovery, development, launch and further iteration.
- Shape the complete service experience, from onboarding and activation to billing, renewal and support, ensuring that offerings are easy to use and operationally scalable.
- Define requirements for partnerships and integrations where they enable or strengthen the service offering.
- Track adoption, revenue, profitability and customer retention, using insights to improve the portfolio and guide investment decisions.
- Act as the product point of reference for your portfolio, aligning internal teams and external partners on direction, priorities and trade-offs.
Requirements
- You have at least 3 years of experience in Product Management, preferably within a software, payments, subscription or technology-enabled services environment.
- You combine strong product thinking with commercial acumen: you can assess customer needs, build business cases and make informed decisions about pricing, revenue models and profitability.
- You have a solid understanding of the product development lifecycle and are comfortable working closely with software development teams in an Agile environment.
- You understand that a successful service requires more than software features, with clear commercial terms, reliable delivery, billing and ongoing support.
- You have enough technical affinity to understand platforms, APIs and integrations and to have meaningful conversations with engineers and external technology partners. You do not need to be a developer yourself.
- You know how to influence without formal authority, create alignment between stakeholders and challenge ideas constructively.
- You use customer insights and data to validate assumptions, prioritise opportunities and measure results.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and change and can bring structure and focus to a fast-moving environment.
- You are fluent in English.
- Experience with payment solutions, subscription models or service agreements is a plus, as is knowledge of energy or mobility services.
