Environmental, Health and Safety Manager   JOB SUMMARY:   Ensure adherence to company and regulatory agency policies, including federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations.      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Evaluates hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks and recommends improvements.   2.  Evaluates existing health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and develops new procedures and programs where necessary.   3.   Leads the facility Traditional and Behavior Based Safety programs and associated teams.    4.   Leads accident and injury investigations, investigations of environmental incidents and recommends appropriate action.   5.   Administers the Workers Compensation program.   6.  Maintains facility EHS files, environment permits, accidents and training records, and updates regulatory logs.    7.  Maintains contingency plans, including fire prevention, and procedures for controlling hazardous spills in accordance with government regulation and insurance company requirements.   8.  Trains employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations.        9.  Develops inspection policies and establishes regular inspection schedules.     QUALIFICATIONS:  

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related subject. Minimum of three - five years working in a distribution or manufacturing site with of at least 300 people in an in EHS leadership role. Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements. Demonstrated ability to interact with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.  Understanding of worker’s compensation and liability insurance claims.  Experience conducting safety audits, job safety analysis, accident investigations, analyzing data and managing OSHA 300 log.  Experience with programs including:  hazardous and non-hazardous waste, chemical management, hazard communication, and forklift safety background. Experience developing, organizing, and conducting presentations and training programs. Excellent skills in written and oral communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
