The posting

SMX is seeking an experienced Tactical Mission Network (TMN) Trainers to deliver the Operator Lethality Course to tactical-level users on-site in Taiwan. This role is responsible for delivering training plans for end-users of the capabilities of the network. The Training Specialist will support training events at various locations domestically and overseas, including potentially austere or conflict-adjacent environments, as determined by the client.

This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instruction & Course Delivery

  • Deliver the Operator Lethality Course curriculum to tactical-level military personnel, covering the full suite of TMN tools, their functionality, and practical field applications across all assigned training events
  • Lead hands-on practical exercises and scenario-based vignettes designed to reinforce operator proficiency with tactical mission network capabilities, joint fires integration, and remote advise and assist tactics
  • Incorporate current real-world lessons learned from ongoing conflicts, including commercial data integration for operational preparation of the environment (OPE), unmanned systems employment, and C2 integration
  • Operate, set up, and troubleshoot all training systems, end-user devices (EUDs), and unmanned systems (drones) prior to and during each training event
  • Adhere to the standardized lesson plan and course schedule provided by the Training Lead, delivering up to 8 hours of instruction per day across 4–5 day training events
  • Support compressed course schedules when pre-coordinated with the Training Lead and client

Student Assessment & Feedback

  • Lead after-action reviews (AARs) and student feedback sessions at the conclusion of each training event
  • Assess student comprehension and performance throughout the course, providing real-time coaching and remediation as needed
  • Submit all student rosters, attendance records, and feedback results to the Training Lead following each event

Logistics & Event Coordination

  • Coordinate with the on-ground unit point of contact to confirm facility, device, roster, and logistical requirements prior to training
  • Pack, transport, and maintain accountability of all training equipment, including EUDs, drones, and Pelican-cased equipment kits, ensuring proper handling during transit
  • Conduct pre-deployment site surveys when traveling the night prior to training kick-off, confirming setup and coordination with the on-ground POC
  • Configure and test all network infrastructure, end-user devices, and demonstration systems prior to course commencements and drone systems
  • All travel governed by Federal Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and applicable contract requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience operating tactical mission network platforms, C2 systems, or related capabilities in a military or special operations context
  • Active secret security clearance
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with end-user devices (EUDs) and unmanned systems (drones) in a tactical or operational environment
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent military UAS operator qualification
  • Prior experience as a military instructor, trainer, or subject matter expert (SME) delivering formal or operational training to military audiences
  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS on short notice, including to austere and potentially high-risk locations
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; ability to explain complex technical capabilities in operationally relevant terms

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Background in special operations, joint fires, targeting, or C4ISR systems
  • Experience with commercial data integration tools for operational preparation of the environment (OPE)
  • Familiarity with advise and assist mission sets and partner force training environments
  • Experience with remote advise and assist tactics utilizing tactical mission networks
  • Experience developing or revising programs of instruction (POI) or training materials
  • Prior deployment experience to OCONUS locations in support of combat or contingency operations

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
