About SnapMagic

SnapMagic is building AI for PCB design.

More than 2 million engineers use SnapMagic every year to discover electronic components and design products faster. Behind the scenes, we're building the operating system for electronics design: one of the world's largest electronics component databases, a platform the industry already trusts, and a new generation of AI tools, starting with our AI-assisted design product, that take engineers from idea to working hardware faster than ever.

We have strong revenue growth, proven product-market fit, and backing from leading Silicon Valley investors including Y Combinator. The next chapter of how the world's hardware gets designed is being written now, and we want you in the room for it.

The Opportunity

Build an incredible product and own it.

Millions of engineers use SnapMagic to build everything from fully electric aircraft to connected toys to life-saving medical devices. We're now rebuilding how they find components and design with them using AI. You'll build and own our AI-assisted design tool and the AI products around it, working directly with the founder, Product, and Customer Success to ship things hardware engineers rely on every day.

This is a founder-mentality role on a small, product-focused team. We're resourceful, curious, and biased toward action. Expect to be challenged, learn, teach, and grow.

What You'll Own

- Our electronic design and CAD software. You’ll own all of the company’s software related to electronic design and CAD models, including the AI-assisted design tool and our other AI products. You’ll take them from idea to production and keep them improving, with accountability for whether people actually use them.

- Hardware-grade accuracy. Engineers will build real boards from what our tools produce, so you'll be obsessive about detail and design validation. This goes well beyond vibe-coding: it has to work in the real world, be correct, and be something engineers trust.

- Product outcomes, not just features. You'll care about usage and engagement, and you'll decide what to build next. This role borders on product management, from an engineer's seat.

- Close contact with hardware engineers. You'll talk to our users, learn what matters in their workflow, and make sure what we ship is viable and legitimately useful.

- Full-stack delivery and scale. Postgres, Python, Django, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, in applications that perform reliably for millions of engineers.

What We're Looking For

- Hands-on hardware experience: you've designed, built, or debugged circuit boards, or you have a strong inclination and track record in that direction

- 3+ years building full-stack web applications, ideally with Django, including high-throughput systems

- A builder's instinct: you ship, you iterate, and you've made things people actually use

- Product sense: you care about adoption and engagement as much as the code

- High ownership and a bias toward action

- A product-oriented engineering approach with good habits around testing and code review. You care about making customers and users happy with what you build, and you let that guide your technical decisions.

- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to solve problems independently. You’re highly responsible and resourceful, and you figure things out without waiting to be told how.

You Might Be a Good Fit If You

- Have built your own hardware projects and want to build tools you'd want to use yourself

- Enjoy shipping as much as designing

- Care about the craft but never lose sight of the customer

- Thrive in small, high-accountability teams

Perks and Benefits

- Full ownership for hardware/electronics design related software

- Competitive compensation

- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus dependent coverage

- 401(k) plan

- An innovative environment that encourages creative thinking

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
