Our alternative provision offers short- and medium-term placements for students who are struggling in mainstream education, supporting them to re-engage and prepare for their next steps.

Guided by our ethos to safeguard, inspire, encourage and support growth, you will deliver a broad, balanced curriculum that promotes academic, social and emotional development. We welcome applications from both primary and secondary colleagues who are passionate about improving outcomes for young people.

About the role

As a Teacher at Engage, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, adaptive lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
  • Support students to build confidence, improve behaviour and re-engage with education.
  • Plan personalised learning for pupils with additional needs and SEMH challenges.
  • Create positive, trusting relationships within a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Work closely with families, schools and external agencies to support student progress.
  • Contribute to review meetings and bespoke programmes that balance academic and personal development.
  • Prepare students for successful reintegration, further education or employment pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with a skilled team including the Curriculum Lead, Centre Lead, DSL and HLTA.

About you

You will be:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong classroom practice.
  • Experienced in, or keen to work within, alternative provision or inclusive settings.
  • Skilled at adapting teaching to meet a range of needs and barriers to learning.
  • A strong communicator who builds effective relationships with students, families and professionals.
  • Patient, resilient and committed to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Passionate about behaviour change, re-engagement and improving life chances.
  • A collaborative practitioner committed to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Able to demonstrate sustained impact against the Teachers’ Standards if applying for UPS.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to transforming the educational experiences and life chances of young people.

Applicants are advised to refer to the full requirements of the role in the attached job description and person specification, prior to submitting an application.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
