Snowflake's Forward Deployed Engineering team embeds directly inside enterprise customers' environments to design, build, and deploy production AI systems. We lead with AI transformation programs and expand into high-impact use cases built by our engineers and researchers. This work is specific, technical, and consequential — we do not do pilots that never ship.
As an AI Deployment Strategist, you are the partner enterprise customers turn to when they are serious about transforming how their business runs on AI. You sit inside the FDE product org, working alongside the engineers and researchers who deliver these programs.
The revenue is the result of trust, not a pitch.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Understand the customer's business. Sit with C-level executives (CEO, COO, CFO, and beyond), and their teams on where AI changes how they operate. Learn how they make money and where the friction is. Find the problems worth solving and bring a point of view they cannot get from their own staff.
Turn strategy into programs. Translate executive conversations into real engagements. Qualify opportunities rigorously, structure commercial commitments honestly, and author Statements of Work that reflect what Snowflake's FDE team can actually deliver. Work with legal to navigate IP, data rights, and contract terms specific to custom AI engagements.
Grow the relationship. Expand from a first engagement into a portfolio across business units. Done well, these become Snowflake's deepest enterprise relationships.
Qualify field-originated pipeline. Serve as the filter for opportunities originated by Snowflake's field AE organization. Evaluate each for FDE fit across technical complexity, deployment readiness, and commercial viability. Protect FDE capacity. Improve conversion.
Partner with Account Executives. Work alongside AEs on contracting and commercials. You own the engagement scope, product pricing, and delivery commitments. They own the primary commercial relationship.
Partner with Marketing. Collaborate on field enablement, go-to-market campaigns, and thought leadership that builds awareness for FDE's offerings.
Feed signal back. Bring what you hear in qualification — customer pain points, use case patterns, competitive dynamics — directly to FDE product and engineering leadership.
Earn trust over the long run. Make the call that serves the customer, including when an FDE engagement is not right for them. You will be more valuable to Snowflake because of it.
WHAT YOU BRING
A track record as a trusted advisor to senior executives. You have built and held C-suite relationships independently. You bring a point of view, not a pitch.
Fluency in both technology and business strategy. You can hold a conversation on AI architecture and on the P&L, and translate between the two. You earn technical credibility with engineers and customer CTOs in the same meeting.
Experience scoping and closing complex enterprise engagements. You have written and negotiated Statements of Work for custom technical solutions. You understand scope risk and structure commitments that are honest about what will and will not be delivered.
A consistent track record in enterprise software or technical solutions, working alongside a field sales organization to qualify and close.
The judgment to navigate multi-stakeholder procurement, legal, and security review without reading as a salesperson.
AI-native in practice. You use frontier AI tools in your daily work and can speak credibly to a customer about what they change at the operational level. You’re comfortable building executive level slides and technical demos to exemplify the AI path to outcome.
