Senior QA Automation Engineer – Mobile & CI

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with a strong focus on mobile application testing and automation. The role requires hands-on experience across iOS and Android, automation frameworks, CI pipelines, web/API testing, and mobile usability.

Native mobile development expertise is not required, but strong mobile app testing experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks for iOS and Android applications, ensuring scalability and maintainability. Test across real devices, iOS Simulator, and Android Emulator. Integrate and maintain mobile automation suites within CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability and stability of automated test execution. Perform web and API automation testing, with a focus on critical user journeys such as ordering, payment, and customer workflows. Develop and execute manual, exploratory, regression, usability, and cross-platform testing strategies. Create and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and release validation reports. Work closely within a cross-functional product squad alongside Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle. Validate mobile releases, perform release sign-off activities, and troubleshoot issues across staging and production environments. Ensure strong coverage of functionality, usability, regression, performance, and cross-platform compatibility. Clearly communicate risks, defects, and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills

  • 5–6+ years of mobile app testing experience. Mobile automation: Strong hands-on experience with Appium, Mobilewright, or Detox, including testing on real devices. Comfortable working in Xcode with the iOS Simulator and Android Studio Emulator. Automation framework development: Proven experience designing, building, enhancing, and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch, not just executing existing test scripts. Mobile CI: Experience running and maintaining reliable mobile automation suites within CI pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions. Web automation: Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript. API testing: Postman/Newman. Manual & Exploratory Testing: Strong capability in exploratory, functional, usability, regression, and end-to-end testing. Test Planning & Release Validation: Experience creating test strategies, test plans, regression suites, and leading release validation/sign-off activities. Mobile release tooling: TestFlight and CodePush. Source control: GitHub and PR-based workflows. Observability: Datadog for troubleshooting staging and production issues. Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience working closely with Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders in Agile teams.

Nice to Have

  • Contract testing with Pact. Performance testing using JMeter or k6. Feature flag testing, preferably GrowthBook. Basic SQL. AI-assisted testing/tools such as Claude, Copilot, Cursor, Testim AI, or other AI-driven test generation tools. Experience testing React Native applications. Experience leveraging AI for automated test case generation, maintenance, and test data creation.

A strong QA Automation Engineer with a mobile-first testing mindset, proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks, strong manual and exploratory testing capabilities, and hands-on expertise across mobile, web, API, and CI/CD automation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working as an embedded member of a product squad, driving release quality, improving test automation coverage, and leveraging AI tools to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
