The posting

Sogeclair is seeking an Aerospace Design Engineer to support a major aircraft engineering program in Wichita. The role focuses on migrating CATIA V5 models, assemblies, and engineering drawings into Siemens NX, with engineering data managed in Teamcenter. The successful candidate will preserve design intent, ensure CAD data quality, and support accurate configuration and release of converted designs.

Key Responsibilities

· Convert CATIA V5 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings into Siemens NX; rebuild geometry or parametric features when needed.

· Validate converted designs for geometry, dimensions, interfaces, assembly relationships, and original design intent.

· Identify and resolve translation errors, missing references, and modeling or drawing discrepancies.

· Maintain part structures, revisions, BOMs, and engineering documentation through Siemens Teamcenter.

· Create or revise detailed NX models and drawings using applicable GD&T and aerospace design standards.

· Coordinate with design, manufacturing, quality, and configuration teams to support engineering changes and release readiness.

Requirements

· 3+ years of relevant aerospace mechanical, structural, or aircraft design engineering experience.

· Professional proficiency in Siemens NX for 3D modeling, assemblies, and 2D drafting.

· Hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter and engineering data / revision management.

· Working knowledge of CATIA V5 models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.

· Understanding of CAD translation, model validation, GD&T, and aerospace drawing practices.

· Engineering degree or equivalent relevant technical experience.

· Eligible to access ITAR-controlled technical data as a U.S. person under applicable export-control regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

· Direct experience migrating CATIA V5 design data into Siemens NX.

· Experience with large aircraft assemblies, airframe structures, interiors, or mechanical installations.

· Experience with Teamcenter configuration control, BOMs, engineering changes, and release workflows.

· Familiarity with CAD validation tools, including NX Check-Mate, and aerospace OEM design standards.
