The posting

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS) Design Engineer to support an aircraft engineering work package in Greensboro, NC. This role focuses on both detailed wiring/harness definition and physical 3D harness routing and installation using CATIA. Prior experience supporting aircraft OEM programs is desirable, particularly for a potential on-site coordination assignment.

Wiring Diagrams & Harness Definition

· Develop detailed wiring diagrams (W/D) from customer-provided Electrical System Schematic Diagrams (ESSD).

· Define individual conductors, wire IDs, lengths, connector pin-outs, terminations, and grounding points.

· Generate and maintain Harness Definition Reports (HDR) with wire lengths, IDs, pins, grounds, and manufacturing-ready data.

· Coordinate revisions and resolve discrepancies among ESSD inputs, wiring diagrams, and HDR outputs.

3D Harness Routing & Installation

· Design aircraft harness routing in CATIA, including physical paths, clearances, supports, clips, and attachment points.

· Produce harness installation drawings and integrate routing with aircraft structure and adjacent systems.

· Apply EWIS considerations for separation, protection, accessibility, maintainability, and installation feasibility.

· Collaborate with structures, systems integration, and methods/manufacturing teams to resolve installation issues.

Manufacturing & Project Support

· Support methods teams using wiring diagrams and HDRs to prepare harness jig boards and fabrication instructions.

· Provide engineering clarification for harness fabrication, connectorization, installation, and clipping work instructions.

· Support design changes, configuration control, technical reviews, and shop-floor issue resolution.

· For suitably experienced candidates, potentially coordinate on-site work-package activities, deliverables, and customer communications.

Requirements

· Hands-on aerospace EWIS/harness design experience, including wiring diagrams and harness definition documentation.

· Experience with connector pin assignments, wire IDs, lengths, grounding, and harness configurations.

· CATIA 3D electrical harness routing and aircraft installation design experience.

· Ability to interpret ESSD inputs and translate them into detailed, manufacturable harness designs.

· Experience collaborating with engineering, methods, and manufacturing teams; ability to work on-site in Greensboro.

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous experience supporting aircraft OEM electrical harness design and integration programs.

· Direct experience spanning both W/D and HDR generation and CATIA 3D harness routing.

· Experience with CATIA Electrical Harness Installation or comparable workbenches.

· Knowledge of applicable aircraft OEM EWIS standards, FAA requirements, and technical work-package coordination.

Role Scope Clarification

This is a harness-focused EWIS design position—not an electrical power/load analysis, electrical architecture, or initial ESSD development role. Customer-provided ESSDs are the starting inputs. The desired engineer can support both Part 1 (wiring diagrams/HDR) and Part 2 (3D routing/installation).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
