What are we looking for?

We are seeking for an ambitious and talented Laboratory Analyst In-Service Trainee. This is a fixed term 12-month contract. The intern will be expected to assist the Laboratory Supervisor with laboratory tasks, while gaining practical experience, and learning analytical techniques.

The key responsibilities:

  • Analyse all raw materials and finished products on receipt, as per relevant test methods.
  • Perform analysis using all laboratory instruments such as moisture analyser, HPLC, laboratory oven etc.
  • Assist with updating of laboratory test methods and work instructions.
  • Ensure all chemicals in the laboratory are not expired and the chemical register is kept up to date.
  • Perform calibrations and/or verifications of equipment as per schedule.
  • Ensure compliance to all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements.
  • Assist lab supervisor with monthly quality indicator monitoring and reporting.
  • Perform internal task as per internal training and other ad hoc duties.

Mandatory task:

  • Follow all rules, SOP's and regulations of the company including the OHS Act.
  • Ensure correct PPE is always worn.
  • Always practise good housekeeping principles.

If you possess…

Must-Have:

  • Matric/ Grade 12.
  • Must have completed all S4 Analytical Chemistry subjects and required to do Practicals – P1 and P2 for 12 months.
  • Must have completed all S5 subjects and require completing P2 practicals for 6 months.
  • Students must not have any outstanding modules /subjects.
