The posting

Were looking for a mid-level Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) Engineer with at least four years of experience to join our growing team. Youll support a range of projects in the oil & gas and utility sectors, working on both new facilities and infrastructure upgrades.

This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid foundation in either electrical or instrumentation disciplines who wants to deepen expertise across both. Youll work alongside senior engineers and project managers on multidiscipline teams delivering energy transition and critical infrastructure projects.

The position offers hands-on design experience and a clear path toward greater technical leadership, project responsibility, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering

  • Develop and assist in the preparation of electrical design packages, including one-line diagrams, grounding and lighting plans, and conduit/cable routing layouts.
  • Prepare conduit and cable schedules, interconnection diagrams, and equipment layouts.
  • Perform electrical calculations such as load flow, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis.
  • Select and specify electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, and UPS systems.
  • Support development of bills of materials (BOMs), datasheets, and procurement documentation.
  • Use tools such as ETAP or SKM to support electrical studies and system modeling.

Instrumentation & Controls

  • Assist in the preparation of I&C deliverables including instrument location plans, I/O lists, and loop/wiring diagrams.
  • Support the design of control panels, terminal diagrams, and P&IDs in coordination with process and mechanical disciplines.
  • Help develop instrument datasheets, control philosophies, and cause & effect matrices.
  • Participate in specifying PLCs, RTUs, and instrumentation devices.
  • Coordinate with vendors for submittals, integration support, and field verifications.

Project & General Support

  • Contribute to proposal development, including preliminary scope, cost, and schedule inputs.
  • Participate in site visits to gather field data and support design validation.
  • Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to produce coordinated, high-quality design packages.
  • Support construction efforts with RFI responses, redline reviews, and commissioning assistance.
  • Maintain design quality and consistency through adherence to internal standards and review processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience; consulting or EPC background preferred.
  • Masters degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Working knowledge of standard engineering principles, electrical codes, and design practices.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related design or analysis software.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE track encouraged.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
