The Orchard has an immediate opening for a Corporate Development Manager. This position plays a critical role in driving The Orchard’s M&A transactions, strategic investments and global growth opportunities.

This is an ideal position for an ambitious self-starter with proven strategic acumen who is passionate about and well-versed in the media & entertainment industry and driven to execute high-impact deals across music, technology and digital networks businesses. Working closely with senior management throughout The Orchard and Sony Music puts the Manager in a unique position to directly influence high-level strategic decision-making and deliver impactful business analysis across the organization.

What You'll Do:

• Office- first role, in office 4 days a week.
• Deal Execution: Lead transactions from start to finish, including preliminary evaluation, deal structuring, due diligence coordination, valuation and cross-functional execution for potential M&A, investments and strategic partnerships
• Relationship & Industry Network: Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external partners, investors, industry experts, and founders across the media, music, and startup ecosystems
• Financial Modeling & Strategic Analysis: Build sophisticated financial models and conduct macro-level analyses on The Orchard’s M&A strategy to support transaction decision-making
• Executive Communication: Synthesize complex financial and strategic analysis into clear, compelling decks and memos to effectively present investment recommendations directly to senior executive leadership
• Market Intelligence: Understand and monitor regional markets, industry trends, competitive landscapes, and internal product development efforts to proactively evaluate business opportunities

Who You Are:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Work Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a corporate development role at a media & entertainment company or in an investment banking or management consulting role focused on the media & entertainment industry.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and Excel skills, with demonstrated experience analyzing and drawing actionable conclusions from large, complex data sets
• Advanced Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of successfully influencing key stakeholders and communicating a vision and roadmap along with the resourcing needs to achieve it
• Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to independently think end-to-end, manage long-term projects, manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce high quality deliverables
• Industry Passion: Strong understanding of and passion for the evolving music, digital media and technology landscape

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
