With innovation, quality and logistics as the backbone of the company, Sourceability’s cutting-edge products and services expedite the procurement process across a wide range of industries, including communications/cellular, consumer electronics, and auto manufacturing.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Excess Buyer to become a vital part of our APAC Excess team.

As a Senior Excess Buyer, you will manage strategic and high-value excess accounts, lead complex negotiations, support Sales with proactive offers and coach the next generation of Excess Buyers. This role is the senior commercial expert level within the Excess team and is designed to prepare strong performers for future management responsibility.

Our goal is to build a sophisticated team equipped with expert technical skills, commercial judgement and keen business acumen. Each team member adds value to the business, the customer and the wider supply chain.

Insight on your impact

  • Manage strategic, high-value, global or complex excess accounts across assigned APAC markets.
  • Lead pricing and commercial negotiations for major excess opportunities and complex lot-buy situations.
  • Review high-value, high-risk or technically complex excess lists and determine the correct commercial path forward.
  • Develop Tier 1 customer/supplier relationships through regular engagement, account reviews, site visits and long-term relationship planning.
  • Proactively offer excess opportunities to Sales and identify matched demand, cost-save and resale opportunities.
  • Support major opportunity reviews with Sales, BD, Finance, Logistics, Quality and leadership where required.
  • Coach Junior Excess Buyers and Excess Buyers on negotiation, account ownership, list qualification, risk flags and Sales coordination.
  • Act as a backup to the Excess Manager when needed, including account review support, escalation handling and KPI discipline.

Your qualifications, your influence

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills:

  • Proven experience in electronic component sourcing, excess inventory, independent distribution, procurement, account management or related commercial role.
  • Strong understanding of electronic component markets, manufacturers, MPNs, date codes, packaging, shortage/excess dynamics and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strategic accounts and negotiate complex or high-value opportunities.
  • Strong commercial judgement, risk awareness and ability to escalate quality, compliance or financial concerns appropriately.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, BD, Logistics, Finance, Quality and management stakeholders.
  • Strong coaching mindset and ability to develop less experienced buyers.
  • Excellent CRM discipline and ability to maintain strategic account plans and opportunity records.

Preferred skills and technical familiarity

Adding additional insight, practical experience and a growth mindset will elevate your contribution in this role:

  • Experience managing Tier 1 or strategic OEM/EMS/ODM/OCM accounts.
  • Experience with high-value lot buys, proactive offers, cost-save opportunities and global account coordination.
  • Knowledge of vendor qualification, traceability, COC requirements, quality risk and compliance expectations.
  • Ability to run account reviews, prepare management updates and support KPI discussions.
  • Regional language skills and ability to travel for strategic account development.
  • Interest and readiness to develop toward Excess Manager responsibilities.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborative and vibrant work culture
  • PTO
  • Referral bonus programme where applicable

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
