The posting

Southern Lifting & Hoisting is your go-to provider for lifting, hauling, and logistics. With a team of skilled operators and a wealth of industry experience, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative solutions that streamline operations across various sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are hiring a Rigger to support projects across West Texas.

This role supports a mix of oil & gas work and taxi crane services, operating well-maintained, newer equipment alongside experienced field teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rigging and signaling for crane and lifting operations
  • Select, inspect, and properly use rigging gear (slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, etc.)
  • Assist with crane setup, breakdown, and job-site preparation
  • Interpret lift plans, load charts, and job-specific rigging requirements
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and company safety standards
  • Communicate clearly with crane operators and ground crews during lifts
  • Conduct pre-lift inspections and participate in job safety analyses (JSAs)
  • Support transport loading and securement for heavy-haul moves when required

Requirements

  • Certified Rigger (NCCER or equivalent) – Highly preferred
  • Minimum 1 years of rigging experience in crane or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of rigging principles, load dynamics, and signaling
  • Experience working around hydraulic and lattice boom cranes
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Class A CDL preferred, valid driver's license required
