About HBK (Hottinger Brüel & Kjær):

This job will provide you with an opportunity to further your career alongside some of the best and most passionate technology experts from around the world in a leading company within the test, measurement and data analytics industry. You will be a strong contributor, collaborating closely with colleagues from various business functions.

At HBK, we live up to our three values: Be True, Own It and Aim High. We believe in absolute integrity – it’s how we win for stakeholders, the environment and each other. We believe in teamwork and keeping our promises – to ourselves and others. Finally, we believe in being bold and positive. This is how we perform at our best and achieve greater success.

About Discom by HBK:

Discom is a technological market leader in acoustic quality analysis for industrial production. Our systems are in use worldwide, ensuring the quality of complex drive and motion systems every single day – from electric drives to transmissions and actuators, all the way to advanced high‑tech applications.

As part of HBK, our team of around 40 employees in Göttingen develops innovative NVH solutions for end‑of‑line testing. We work closely with leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers and are an integral part of their production processes by detecting quality deviations at an early stage and enabling robust, reliable workflows.

At the same time, we are expanding into new future markets such as eVTOL and robotics – including humanoid robots – where high‑precision acoustic and vibration analysis is essential for safety, performance, and reliability.

To support our continued growth in these future markets, we are looking for a Frontend Application Engineer to join our R&D team. The location of work will be Shanghai.

What You’ll Do

  • Prototyping of client applications; feature development for existing frontend applications
  • On-site deployment to ensure smooth integration into industrial processes and data pipelines
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer needs and user experience are at the heart of feature development
  • Translate customer requirements (user stories) into actionable tasks and issues
  • Monitor trends and requirements in the Chinese tech market and turn insights into strategic recommendations

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in computer science, acoustics or a related technical field
  • Strong background in frontend/client app development (Python, React, etc.) and API integration (e.g. Grafana)
  • Skilled in data analysis and processing
  • Strong domain interest (acoustic and manufacturing)
  • Experience with modern software architecture and tech stacks, including cloud technologies
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Fluency in Chinese and English

We also value experience with modern development practices, including:

  • DevOps workflows (Git/GitHub)
  • Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)

These processes are well established in our organization and form the foundation for efficient, high-quality software development.

What We Offer

  • Shaping the future: Work with us on the next generation of acoustic real‑time analysis – from e‑mobility to eVTOL and robotics
  • A dynamic, international and intercultural environment where you can actively contribute and learn
  • Good work-life balance
  • Support from and train with German domain experts
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth
  • Flexible working hours and the option for mobile work
  • Comprehensive health and wellness programs
  • Attractive compensation and benefits package

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
