The posting

About us:

Spectrum.Life is a whole-of-health digital partner delivering clinically backed mental health and wellbeing care to over 7.2 million insurance members, 3,000 corporate clients, and 650,000 university students across Australia and internationally. We're building a clinically led affiliate network of registered practitioners who can deliver in-person appointments in their community, with some also available to respond on site when a workplace faces a critical incident.

Role Brief:

Spectrum.Life is expanding our network of affiliate network. We welcome applications from psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists, and social workers. Registration or membership must be current, full, and active — not provisional or lapsed. AQF Level 7 minimum and at least 2 years' post-qualification, client-facing clinical experience. Recruiting nationally, with strongest current need across our priority postcodes and the suburbs carrying the greatest customer density: VIC: East Melbourne, South Melbourne, Sunshine, Coolaroo/Attwood, Craigieburn, Bentleigh East, Cranbourne, Geelong, Traralgon — plus Melbourne CBD, South Yarra, Fitzroy, and Ballarat NSW: Sydney CBD, Darlinghurst, Concord West, Parramatta, Liverpool, Penrith, Newcastle — plus North Sydney and Alexandria SA: Adelaide QLD: Toowoomba, Caloundra (Sunshine Coast) — plus Brisbane CBD WA: Perth, Joondalup/Wanneroo TAS: Hobart, Launceston ACT / NT: Canberra, Darwin Don't see your area listed? Apply anyway — we're building coverage nationally.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Single Session Therapy and brief structured counselling face to face — CBT, Behavioural Activation, Problem-Solving Therapy, and Person-Centred models.
  • Conduct structured assessments, clinical formulations (5-P model), and risk assessments at every contact, including suicidality, self-harm, and safeguarding.
  • Use validated outcome measures (CORE-10, PHQ-9, GAD-7, K10, ORS, SRS, WSAS) to guide treatment and track progress.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical case notes, and connect clients to relevant referral pathways as a clinical decision.

Requirements:

Psychologists

Current general or specialist registration with AHPRA, no conditions affecting scope of practice.

Counsellors / psychotherapists

Full membership with ACA (Level 2+) or PACFA (Registered Counsellor / Clinical Member).

Social workers

Full membership with AASW. Mental Health Accreditation preferred.

Critical incident response Supports workplaces after events such as serious injury, fatality, violence, or natural disaster — on-site, time-critical work alongside your face-to-face caseload, not instead of it. We're looking for clinicians with:

  • Psychological First Aid training and applied crisis response experience
  • Familiarity with CISM / CISD frameworks and trauma-informed crisis intervention
  • Capacity to travel to onsite locations on short notice, including overnight stays where required

What you'll need in place

  • National Police Check, and Working With Children Check where applicable to your state or territory
  • Professional indemnity insurance ($10M AUD per claim) and public liability insurance ($20M AUD), current and including telehealth cover
  • Current practising certificate and accreditation certificate (AHPRA, PACFA, ACA, or AASW)
  • A private practice space, and your own practice management system with capacity to record sessions on our affiliate platform
  • Working knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles, and of your profession's code of conduct or ethics
  • Broader working knowledge to support safe, evidence-based care — including relevant state Mental Health Act and mandatory reporting obligations, WHS requirements for on-site work, and clinical frameworks such as structured risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and scope-of-practice / escalation pathways

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
