Are you a kid at heart looking to build a career with a leading global children's toy, entertainment and digital gaming company?

At Spin Master, our unwavering commitment to open mindedness, integrity and innovation is a great part of what has made us an industry leader. How do we stay ahead of the pack? By hiring the best and brightest minds—and that’s why we want you!

Job Description:

About Hapiko

Hapiko makes Stickerbox, a voice-activated sticker printer for kids. A child says whatever they can imagine, and seconds later it's a real sticker in their hand. Hapiko is a Spin Master company, which means we pair our small, senior engineering team with the reach of one of the world's largest toy companies to pioneer the future of play.

What will you work on?

You'll make sure every sticker a kid prints is safe. We're a small team building a first-of-its-kind product and scaling it globally. Because it runs generative AI in children's homes, safety isn't a feature we add later. It's the core of the product. As our first dedicated Trust & Safety engineer, you'll own the systems that keep it that way as we grow.

This is an engineering role, not a policy-only role. You'll own and improve the moderation pipeline, the evals and the tooling. A big part of the job is precision: keeping protection strong while making sure kids' harmless ideas get through.

How will you create impact?

  • Own and maintain content moderation end to end, from what a child says to the image that prints, including copyrighted and licensed characters.
  • Maintain and grow our safety eval suites, and use them to decide when a model, prompt or threshold change is ready to ship.
  • Continuously improve our classifiers, and decide where in-house models and third-party models fit best.
  • Tune moderation over time to cut over-blocking without weakening protection.
  • Run ongoing red teaming against our models and pipeline.
  • Maintain review tooling for flagged content and parent reports.
  • Own the incident response runbook for safety issues.
  • Maintain the technical side of our compliance obligations, including data retention and deletion.
  • Partner with our ML and Backend / Platform engineers so safety is built into new models and features before they ship.

What are your skills and experience?

  • Applied safety engineering experience on a product with real users.
  • You've built evals or classifiers for harmful content, not just configured a vendor API.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python: you can ship production code in the moderation path, where it has to be both fast and fail-safe.
  • Comfort with precision/recall tradeoffs, and the judgment to set thresholds when both kinds of error have a cost.
  • Good judgment under pressure.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
