Meet The Team

Cisco Networking is an industry leader providing intelligent network solutions for organizations to securely connect users, devices, applications, and workloads everywhere. We empower organizations – from local libraries to global hotels, hospitals, manufacturers, and more – to focus on their mission and have technology that simply works.

Cisco Networking UX shapes end-to-end experiences across Cisco’s networking portfolio. We consider the full customer journey across products, personas, workflows, and ecosystems, helping customers connect, manage, and understand the networks their organizations depend on.

Our designers partner with teams across Cisco Networking, including Network Platform Experiences and Network Products, as well as colleagues across Cisco. Together with Product, Engineering, Research, Data, and AI teams, we create shared patterns for recommendations, automation, agentic workflows, predictive insights, and data-rich experiences. We make advanced capabilities useful, trustworthy, and intuitive for customers.

Across Cisco Networking UX, we share work early, give and receive feedback, and learn from one another. We invest in craft and growth because strong customer experiences come from strong, collaborative teams.

Your Impact

This Principal Product Designer shapes complex, cross-product journeys that help customers keep networks running, resolve problems faster, and deliver the connectivity their organizations depend on. As a principal individual contributor, you will partner with Networking teams, using customer and market insight to identify high-value customer jobs that cross products and shape coherent experience direction. You will make that direction tangible through narratives and prototypes, help teams translate it into experiences they can deliver, and build alignment through design judgment and influence.

You will collaborate closely with Cisco Cloud Control and teams across Cisco to ensure critical Networking customer journeys are thoughtfully designed and delivered through shared Cisco experiences. You will bring Networking's customer context and technical depth into those decisions so these journeys feel coherent rather than added on.

You will personally design and prototype critical parts of the experience, moving fluidly from portfolio-level direction to detailed interaction, visual design, information architecture, and data visualization. You will carry work through validation, production partnership, delivery, and iteration so the resulting experiences are clear, intentional, and visually refined without sacrificing the depth, intelligence, or control customers need.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors + 15 years of related experience, or Masters + 12 years of related experience, or PhD + 8 years of related experience, or equivalent related work experience
  • Experience turning customer and market signals into product opportunities.
  • Portfolio demonstrating interaction design, visual design, information architecture, and prototyping, including at least one project you personally designed and carried from concept through launch. Clearly distinguish your contribution from work you directed, reviewed, or influenced.
  • Experience leading complex product design work across multiple teams, subject areas, or products from discovery through delivery and iteration.
  • Experience using AI to synthesize research, explore and prototype ideas, and validate design direction, with sound judgment about where intelligent and agentic experiences improve customer outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience bringing a clear point of view and using workshops and design exploration to align partners, shape product direction and business outcomes, and move work forward without a fully defined brief.
  • Experience influencing senior partners by making clear recommendations, explaining trade-offs, and helping teams reach sound decisions.
  • Experience raising design quality and capability through critique, mentorship, reusable practices, or design standards that others adopt.
  • Experience applying the clarity and polish of excellent consumer products to technically complex workflows, using visual richness and insight without hiding deeper detail. Relevant experience may come from consumer-facing products, SaaS platforms, or other products built around complex workflows or data; direct networking experience is not required.
  • Experience shaping coherent experiences across products with different customer needs, levels of maturity, or deployment models, including cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
