The posting

Who We Are: The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Cafeteria Security Aide for Lagonda Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. The Springfield City School District values the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of our student body, faculty and staff. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the YouMedia Center, which is a digital learning lab offering students activities such as 3-D printing, graphic design, and videography. We are Wildcats!

As a Cafe Security Aide you are required to:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Possess Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education

As a Cafe Security Aide you will:

  • Assisting students in proper behavior before, during, and exiting the cafeteria
  • Assist with decorations of the cafeteria, especially to reinforce good behavior and eating habits
  • Assisting staff and students in keeping the cafeteria clean and neat. This may at times include the picking up of litter and helping wipe tables
  • Ability to operate cafeteria tables and assists in folding and moving tables as needed
  • Carries out established behavior modification programs
  • Assist with recordkeeping functions when deemed necessary. This may be in the school office when cafeteria duties completed
  • Participating and supervising during emergency preparedness drills
  • Assisting with feeding, lifting, and/or moving students
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What We Offer: As a contracted employee, this position works 2 hours per day, 188 days per year. Monday - Friday 10:45am - 1:00pm or as assigned (can work up to 2.5 hours per day)

Starting salary is $20.19 per hour Salary and other details available online in the Springfield Education United Support Staff agreement (SEUSS)
