Position Purpose:
SRS Distribution, part of The Home Depot family of companies, is establishing Pricefx as its enterprise platform for price optimization, price management, cost management, quoting/CPQ, and price execution across business units, sales channels, and customer experiences. The platform will connect to ERP, digital commerce, quoting, enterprise data, and integration services that power critical workflows across SRS.
We are seeking a Senior Pricing Solution Architect to serve as the senior technical authority for the enterprise pricing technology ecosystem. This role owns end-to-end solution architecture across Pricefx, pricing and quoting capabilities, real-time pricing services, ERP integration, digital commerce, data platforms, APIs, and other systems participating in the pricing lifecycle.
Working closely with the Pricing Application Technology Director, the Enterprise Pricing Product Owner, and business and technology stakeholders, you will turn pricing and commercial needs into scalable enterprise designs, establish technical standards and guardrails, guide Pricefx Engineers, and oversee partner technical delivery. The role must understand the commercial problem behind a requirement - not simply translate it - while protecting the long-term integrity of the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Technical Design
- Own end-to-end solution architecture for the enterprise pricing technology stack, with Pricefx as the core pricing platform and clear boundaries across ERP, CPQ, digital commerce, APIs, data platforms, and other enterprise applications.
- Translate pricing, margin, customer-specific pricing, discounting, quoting, approvals, and price-execution concepts into clear architecture decisions, solution options, and implementation approaches.
- Define architecture for real-time price availability, pricing APIs, quote integrations, downstream price execution, and the batch and event-driven flows required to support enterprise pricing processes.
- Shape solutions that accommodate legitimate business-unit differences while maximizing common enterprise capabilities, reusable patterns, and consistent technology standards.
- Evaluate solution options and communicate trade-offs across scalability, reliability, performance, security, maintainability, implementation complexity, and business value.
Architecture Standards & Technical Governance
- Establish and maintain architecture standards, design patterns, technical guardrails, system boundaries, and non-functional requirements for pricing technology.
- Lead technical design reviews and architecture decisions for Pricefx configuration, extensions, integrations, data flows, security, observability, and cross-platform dependencies.
- Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture, API, data, security, IAM, and operational standards while maintaining practical delivery velocity.
- Maintain target-state diagrams, integration contracts, architecture decision records, and other technical documentation required to sustain long-term platform knowledge.
- Provide technical input into platform roadmap, licensing, upgrade, and capability decisions where architecture or long-term maintainability is affected.
Cross-Platform Delivery & Engineering Leadership
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, API Integration, Cybersecurity, IAM, ERP, Digital Commerce, and Enterprise Applications teams on end-to-end designs and dependencies.
- Guide Pricefx Engineers on configuration patterns, extensions, workflows, technical components, integration approaches, testing strategy, and complex technical problem solving.
- Support resolution of complex cross-platform incidents, performance issues, and architectural defects that require coordination across multiple systems or teams.
- Assess release and upgrade impacts, including integration compatibility, non-functional requirements, technical debt, observability, and production readiness.
- Drive knowledge transfer so architecture and critical design decisions remain understood and owned inside SRS.
Partner Technical Oversight & Platform Evolution
- Provide technical oversight of Pricefx, systems integrators, and managed-services partners, ensuring delivery conforms to SRS architecture, engineering, security, and operational standards.
- Review and challenge partner solution designs, extensions, and integration approaches before implementation; ensure decisions are maintainable and do not create unnecessary vendor dependency.
- Act as a technical escalation point for Pricefx product and platform issues when internal Engineering or managed services require architecture-level support.
- Evaluate new Pricefx and adjacent pricing-technology capabilities for fit within the long-term enterprise architecture.
- Create clarity where business processes, system boundaries, and ownership responsibilities intersect, influencing teams without relying on direct authority.

- Reports directly to pricing technology leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience designing pricing, CPQ, commercial, revenue-management, order-to-cash, or comparable enterprise solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SaaS architecture, APIs, integration patterns, enterprise data flows, security, observability, and application lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated experience integrating enterprise applications with ERP, CRM, e-commerce/digital platforms, data platforms, and customer-facing systems.
- Ability to understand pricing processes including price management, customer pricing, optimization, quoting, approvals, margin, discounting, and price execution.
- Experience translating complex business requirements into architecture options and clearly communicating technical trade-offs to Business and Technology stakeholders.
- Experience governing technical delivery performed by systems integrators or software vendors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide technical leadership across teams without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Pricefx or another enterprise pricing platform such as PROS, Vendavo, or Model N; Pricefx architecture, configuration, or integration experience is strongly preferred.
- CPQ implementation experience and experience with real-time pricing APIs and digital/e-commerce pricing.
- Knowledge of Groovy, SQL, integration middleware, API management, cloud architecture, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience in complex B2B distribution, wholesale, retail, building products, or another multi-business-unit pricing environment
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Education:
- Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, Tier 1 - application architecture, software engineering, or integration architecture, including complex business-critical platforms.
Certifications:
- Relevant technical certifications preferred.
