Position Purpose:

The Vice President, Building Products Pricing will own pricing strategy and execution for the Building Products business at SRS Distribution, including full accountability for the business's price book, customer pricing and its contribution to gross margin. This role leads the field pricing organization and drives centralized price book management across all divisions.

The VP will lead rollout and adoption of pricing technologies and other pricing tools within the business and will define the technology and analytics needs the business requires. The VP retains full ownership of the business's pricing P&L outcomes.

This role sets the operating rhythm for reviewing and acting on product and customer margin performance, builds and develops the Building Products pricing team, and works to earn recognition as a critical leader for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Price Book & Margin Management ● Own the Building Products price book and lead centralized price book management across all divisions. ● Set and monitor pricing KPIs, including gross margin performance, override rate, percentage of sales at standard price, and cost change pass-through, and take corrective action where performance falls short of plan. ● Establish and lead a consistent operating rhythm to review and address product and customer margin performance with Division SVPs and Pricing Managers. ● Direct pricing toward the market clearing price for products and customer segments across the business.

Technology & Tool Adoption ● Lead rollout and adoption of pricing tools across the Building Products pricing organization. ● Define the business's technology and analytics needs and partner with the enterprise pricing organization's Value Capture and Vertical Integration team to build the supporting tools and reporting. ● Build structured training so Price Coordinators and Analysts develop real fluency with our technology solutions and other pricing tools.

Team Leadership ● Lead the Building Products pricing organization. ● Recruit, develop, and retain pricing talent, and close the current gap in structured training for the team. ● Develop Pricing Managers and Coordinators as the next generation of business leaders within SRS.

Cross-Functional Partnership ● Partner with Division SVPs to translate pricing strategy into field execution and hold Pricing Managers accountable for results. ● Partner with the enterprise pricing organization on technology, analytics, and enterprise-wide pricing initiatives while retaining ownership of Building Products' pricing P&L outcomes. ● Build credibility with the field organization, which the team already holds today, and extend it as the transformation scales.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
