The posting

An exciting opportunity to make a difference!

St Marie’s School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and dedicated Class Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our warm, welcoming and supportive school community during the Spring Term of 2027.

We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner who is passionate about inclusive education, has high expectations for all children and is committed to ensuring that every child is valued, supported and given the opportunity to flourish.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SENCo or an ambitious teacher with a strong understanding of SEND who is ready to take the next step in their professional development.

The position is permanent and offers flexibility, with applications welcomed from candidates wishing to work either four or five days per week (0.8-1.0 FTE).

Dedicated time away from classroom teaching will be allocated to enable the successful candidate to fulfil their SENCo responsibilities effectively.

The teaching element of the role is not restricted to a particular year group or key stage. Class allocation will be determined according to the successful candidate’s strengths, experience and the needs of the school.

For a suitably experienced candidate, there may also be an opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and contribute to the wider strategic leadership and development of the school.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Is passionate about inclusion and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • Has a strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities and the ability to develop effective, inclusive provision.
  • Can lead, inspire and support colleagues in meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships with children, parents, staff and external professionals.
  • Is organised, proactive and able to manage the responsibilities of both classroom teaching and SEND coordination.
  • Is flexible and willing to teach across the primary age range.
  • Is committed to supporting and promoting the Catholic ethos and values of our school.
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and meets, or is willing to work towards meeting, the statutory SENCo qualification requirements.

We are proud to offer:

  • A warm, welcoming and caring Catholic school community.
  • Wonderful pupils with a positive and enthusiastic attitude to learning.
  • A friendly, dedicated and supportive staff team.
  • A commitment to your professional development and continuous learning.
  • Supportive leadership and governors who are committed to the continued development of our school.
  • Dedicated time to undertake SENCo responsibilities.
  • Flexible working arrangements of four or five days per week.
  • The potential opportunity to contribute to the school's Senior Leadership Team, depending on experience.

Come and visit us!

We warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit our school, meet our wonderful children and staff, and experience for themselves what makes St Marie’s such a special place to work.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
