The posting

StackAdapt is the leading technology company that empowers marketers to reach, engage, and convert audiences with precision. With 465 billion automated optimizations per second, the AI-powered StackAdapt Marketing Platform seamlessly connects brand and performance marketing to drive measurable results across the entire customer journey. The most forward-thinking marketers choose StackAdapt to orchestrate high-impact campaigns across programmatic advertising and marketing channels.

The AI Art Director sits within Creative Studio and helps define and advance the quality of AI-powered creative across StackAdapt. This is a senior, hands-on creative role for someone who combines exceptional creative judgment with deep experience in visual storytelling, filmmaking, creative production, and generative AI.

You will explore emerging creative technologies, develop high-quality creative approaches and workflows, and help establish what great AI-powered advertising looks like. The role combines creative direction with hands-on experimentation and close collaboration across creative and technical teams.

As generative technology evolves, so will this role. We're looking for someone who is excited by emerging creative possibilities, can move fluidly between creative direction and experimentation, and enjoys turning what they learn into practices and knowledge that make the broader team better.

StackAdapt is a remote first company.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Establish and continually raise the creative quality bar for AI-generated advertising.
  • Apply deep creative expertise across concept development, visual storytelling, composition, lighting, movement, pacing, colour, editing, and sound.
  • Create high-quality concepts, prototypes, and reference work using emerging generative technologies.
  • Work hands-on with leading generative image and video technologies to design, test, and refine creative workflows, including prompting, model selection, reference techniques, and methods for improving quality and consistency.
  • Translate creative judgment and experimentation into reusable creative principles, frameworks, workflows, and best practices.
  • Develop standards and evaluation methods for assessing AI-generated creative quality, identifying recurring failure patterns, and recommending improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging AI models, tools, and creative technologies to determine where they can improve creative quality, efficiency, or unlock new creative possibilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Creative Strategy, Production, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to advance the quality and capabilities of AI-powered creative.
  • Develop the AI capabilities of other Creative Studio team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, documentation, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Creative Studio by identifying new opportunities for AI to improve how advertising creative is conceived, produced, and evaluated

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Significant professional experience in creative direction, art direction, filmmaking, cinematography, advertising, or a related creative discipline, with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Strong expertise in visual storytelling and filmmaking fundamentals, including composition, lighting, camera movement, pacing, editing, and narrative structure.
  • Hands-on experience producing high-quality creative with generative AI image and video technologies.
  • Experience developing sophisticated AI creative workflows; familiarity with node-based workflow environments such as ComfyUI, Weavy, or similar systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong prompt engineering skills and an understanding of how prompting, reference inputs, model selection, and workflow design influence creative output.
  • Excellent creative judgment, with the ability to articulate why creative work succeeds or falls short and provide clear direction for improvement.
  • Experience developing AI-assisted creative workflows and an understanding of how prompting, model selection, references, and iteration influence creative output.
  • Strong systems thinking, with an ability to turn creative experimentation and intuition into repeatable approaches and best practices.
  • Comfort working autonomously, learning rapidly, and collaborating across creative and technical teams in a fast-changing environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
