The posting

Job description

At Staking Facilities, we’ve been building blocks since 2017. For our blockchain operation we strive to have minimal 3rd party dependence to stay as decentralized as possible. We operate the whole stack internally - from physical hardware in the datacenter up to the software we develop internally.

We are opening a second datacenter location in the Frankfurt area and we’re looking for a Datacenter Technician/Systems Engineer. This new engineer is going to help us operate, secure and scale systems that power low-latency blockchain and trading operations. Your work will span everything from hands-on work with state of art hardware to improve our automation stack and infrastructure services. No two weeks will look the same, one week you will spend a lot of time in the datacenter, the other week you will be working from home configuring pipelines/software stack.

This role is for someone living nearby Frankfurt with a car and driving license. The role requires someone with a love for hardware, a curious and hands-on mindset, and the ability to bring clarity and take ownership in complex technical environments. For us milliseconds matter and change is a constant.

What we are looking for

  • You are an infrastructure engineer with love for hardware
  • You have previous experience with datacenter work
  • You’re no stranger to enterprise server hardware and basic networking concepts
  • You are able to independently manage, troubleshoot, and improve systems performance
  • You are willing to cover on call duties
  • You are located near Frankfurt, open to frequent travel to our datacenters in the area and occasional travel to Munich. You have a driving license and ideally own a car.
  • You enjoy working closely with your teammates and being part of a small, connected team. You don’t have to be the life of the party—we value getting to know each other and spending time together.

What you would do

You’ll become an integral part of our Infra team that keeps our physical foundation layer stable, reliable and secure. This foundation layer is used by our Solana, Ethereum, Sui and Trading teams. Your work will vary, and you’ll get your hands on lots of new tech.

  • Build racks from scratch - install hardware, cable, label and document
  • Deploy new hardware - network gear and servers (We work with vendors like Arista, Supermicro, Juniper)
  • Configure, customize and tune bare metal servers
  • Maintain and configure server hardware together with documentation
  • Manage changes of our setupContinuously improve the documentation in Netbox
  • Enhance operational processes
  • Collaborate with the team on automation initiatives (DevOps skills are a strong plus)

What we offer

  • Long term career growth opportunity in a blockchain infrastructure company
  • You'll work with cutting edge infrastructure, blockchain technologies, and HFT
  • A socially and ethically responsible employer, pushing boundaries but not at the cost of the planet
  • A high trust, remote first culture with a base in Munich and a globally distributed team
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working hours
  • Your peers bring strong expertise and a collaborative mindset, always eager to expand their skills, just like you
  • A friendly, diverse, and values-led team that prioritizes doing meaningful work

About us

We're an established name in the decentralized finance space, supporting builders, traders and other market participants. Our vision is to enable Crypto to build a next financial open for everyone. We do so by building the underlying infrastructure and investing in projects that foster a fairer and more decentralized world. We are a diverse, fun-loving, international team of doers, tinkerers, and technology enthusiasts with a diverse set of backgrounds. As an independent, bootstrapped company, we have the freedom to call our own shots and put our team at the heart of our company. While we are based in Munich, we are a remote-first company and our team spreads across the whole globe. As such, we regularly meet up at conferences or company retreats in order to closely knit the team together.

If this sounds like the kind of team you'd thrive in, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
