Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)

This is a Stanford Health Care job.

A Brief Overview The Application Analyst I is the entry point into the Application Analyst family. This position implements, administers, and supports assigned systems under the general guidance of senior members of the team while building a foundational understanding of Epic modules, ancillary systems, and health system operations. The role is structured as a developmental one: over approximately 2–3 years, the incumbent is expected to progress from foundational, closely-guided work to independently competent support and basic build activity, building the technical and workflow knowledge needed to be ready for promotion to Application Analyst II.

What you will do

  • Application Support & Incident Resolution
  • Provide tier-2 support of application incidents reported through the help desk
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in production use
  • Provide ongoing troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of applications during assigned shift.
  • Take ownership of low-complexity issues and act as a liaison between the customer and other support staff to facilitate resolution
  • Implementation, Upgrades & Enhancements
  • Assist in the implementation of low-complexity tools and workflows
  • Assist in the upgrade of applicable software or enhancements to existing workflows
  • Modify tables and master files, and make additions and changes, under the direction of senior team members
  • Implement changes using documented procedures that are compliant with department policies and procedures
  • Analysis, Design & Problem Solving
  • Build foundational analytical skills by shadowing senior analysts on workflow analysis and issue triage, with increasing independence over time
  • Testing & Quality
  • Assist in any testing required as part of new implementations, enhancements, or upgrades
  • Documentation
  • Document routine workflows and support activities using established templates and standards
  • Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Coordinate application support with other information technology teams, including Infrastructure, Integration, Enterprise Analytics, and the help desk
  • Meetings & Governance
  • Participate in team and cross-team meetings and maintain appropriate meeting records
  • Growth, Learning & AI Literacy
  • Complete structured onboarding, shadowing, and Epic or other clinical application training/certification activities on the path toward independent competency
  • Demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools, workflows, and technologies, including asking questions and seeking feedback from senior team members
  • Build basic AI literacy — a working understanding of how AI-assisted and automation tools (e.g., ticket triage, documentation, and build-assistance tools) are used in healthcare IT, including their appropriate use and limitations
  • Use approved AI-enabled tools, under guidance, to support daily work such as documentation, research, and routine troubleshooting
  • Actively pursue stretch opportunities and challenge themselves to take on incrementally more complex work as skills develop

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or Health Administration, Management Systems, Technology, Health Information Management, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university
  • Candidates with five (5) years of work experience in a healthcare or general office setting may substitute for the degree requirement

Experience Qualifications

  • No prior healthcare IT or analyst experience required; relevant internship, help desk, clinical, or office experience is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Mid-level Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve routine technology problems
  • Ability and desire to learn to resolve specialized and advanced technology problems
  • Basic AI literacy and genuine curiosity about emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply new AI-enabled tools as part of daily work
  • Growth mindset — willing to try, ask for help, receive feedback, and challenge themselves to build new skills
  • Ability to establish a set of tasks and activities associated with an intended outcome and timeline
  • Ability to take action consistent with available facts, constraints, and anticipated consequences
  • Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills to give information to and receive information from coworkers and customers in a tactful and professional manner
  • Ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions and/or reaching conclusions
  • Ability to develop new skills and teach others
  • Ability to collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and adhere to operational standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to identify risks and issues
  • Ability to develop solutions for new and unfamiliar challenges

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
