Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Application Developer to join a team supporting the 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron (EWS), 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (350 SWW), at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 350 SWW is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The mission of the 350 SWW is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat.

This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation.

As a Software Application Developer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Support the production, test, and development environments by designing, developing, programming and maintaining Windows platform desktop and client/server applications in support of the 350th SWW.
  • Translate technical issues and gather requirements/limitations from management and staff.
  • Develop desktop and client/server applications with C#, VB.NET, Python, MATLAB, and SQL Server.
  • Provide advice and assistance with relational databases and interface applications to databases.
  • Provide advice and assistance with optimizing SQL stored procedures and functions.
  • Analyze problems, design solutions, and optimize current/new techniques.
  • Deploy and maintain software and databases to customer sites and communicate with customers to diagnose and resolve technical customer issues.
  • Provide advice and assistance with understanding the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide advice and assistance with technical knowledge and writing requirements, design, and deployment documentations.
  • Support an interest in Machine Learning to identify areas to modernize.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • A Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, like math, science, or engineering.
  • 3+ years experience with EW programs.
  • 3-10 years experience software development.
  • Strong understanding of programming languages like C#, VB.NET, Python, MATLAB, and SQL Server
  • Technical knowledge and good commenting background for code deployment documentation.
  • Communication to interface with the customers in gathering requirements, diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Experience coding, debugging and maintaining applications in aforementioned program languages
  • Analyze problems at a fundamental level to design flexible solutions to optimize new techniques.
  • Understand software development lifecycle and knowledge of Risk Management Framework.
  • Be able to optimize SQL stored procedures/functions.
  • Detailed-oriented, focused, creative to tackle customer pain points in efficiency and generate scalable solutions.
  • Familiar with Windows batch files and basic command-line automation.
  • Possess active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoW Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current active Top Secret or Secret security clearance is highly preferred.
  • Desired experience with machine learning for modernization efforts.
