Purpose of Role:

The Data & Artificial Intelligence (DART) Team is responsible for providing business and technology solutions for our Finance business partners.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support and lead change initiatives across Statutory and Regulatory Reporting.

The successful candidate will bring 10+ years of relevant experience within banking or financial services, with strong knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting processes and proven experience delivering complex business, regulatory, data, and technology change.

The role will act as a key liaison between Reporting, Finance, Data, Technology, Risk, and other stakeholders to analyze regulatory and business requirements, assess impacts to existing reporting processes, define effective solutions, and drive changes through implementation.

Experience with Workiva and/or Axiom is strongly preferred, particularly where these platforms are used to support statutory, regulatory, or financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Statutory Reporting Change

  • Lead business analysis activities for regulatory reporting change initiatives.
  • Analyze new and evolving reporting requirements and translate them into clear business, functional, data, and system requirements.
  • Perform detailed impact assessments across reports, data elements, calculations, business rules, controls, processes, and technology.
  • Partner with reporting SMEs to understand current-state processes and define appropriate future-state solutions.
  • Assess upstream and downstream impacts of regulatory and reporting changes.
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements while maintaining appropriate reporting governance and control standards.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Lead requirements-gathering workshops with Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Data, Risk, and Operations stakeholders.
  • Document business requirements, functional requirements, process flows, data requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop current-state and future-state process documentation and identify gaps between existing capabilities and target requirements.
  • Translate complex reporting requirements into actionable specifications for technology and data teams.
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the change lifecycle.
  • Manage requirement clarifications, scope changes, dependencies, assumptions, and open issues.

Change Management & Delivery

  • Own or lead business analysis workstreams through the complete change lifecycle, from initial requirement assessment through implementation and post-production stabilization.
  • Partner with project and program managers to develop delivery plans and manage milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Coordinate effectively across business and technology teams to ensure timely delivery of regulatory commitments.
  • Support solution-design reviews and ensure proposed solutions address agreed business requirements.
  • Manage business readiness activities associated with new reporting processes and system changes.
  • Support implementation planning, production deployment, and post-implementation validation.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify and standardize reporting processes.

Data Analysis & Data Quality

  • Analyze reporting data requirements and document data sourcing, lineage, transformation, calculation, and aggregation needs.
  • Work with data teams to identify appropriate authoritative data sources for statutory and regulatory reporting.
  • Investigate data-quality issues and support root-cause analysis and remediation.
  • Perform data analysis and reconciliations to validate reporting outcomes.
  • Identify data gaps and work across stakeholder groups to develop sustainable remediation solutions.
  • Support initiatives designed to reduce manual adjustments, offline calculations, and spreadsheet dependencies.

Testing & Implementation

  • Coordinate and support System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing activities.
  • Validate report outputs against business and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage defect investigation, prioritization, and resolution with business and technology teams.
  • Coordinate business sign-offs and ensure appropriate evidence is retained.
  • Support parallel runs, implementation, and post-production validation where appropriate.

Controls & Governance

  • Ensure appropriate controls are incorporated into new and changed reporting processes.
  • Assess potential control implications arising from regulatory, system, data, or process changes.
  • Maintain clear traceability between regulatory requirements, business requirements, data, system changes, testing, and final reporting output.
  • Partner with Risk, Controls, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders where required.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and governance are maintained throughout the change lifecycle.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across Reporting, Finance, Data, Technology, Operations, and Risk.
  • Facilitate complex requirements and solution-design discussions involving multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Communicate technical and regulatory concepts effectively to both business and technology audiences.
  • Provide clear and concise updates on delivery progress, risks, issues, and decisions.
  • Proactively identify delivery challenges and drive cross-functional teams toward resolution.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior Business Analysts and contribute to the development of BA standards and best practices.
  • Challenge existing processes constructively and influence stakeholders toward scalable and sustainable solutions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Regulatory Reporting, Statutory Reporting, Financial Reporting Change, Finance Transformation, or a related field.
  • Significant experience within banking, financial services, or another highly regulated financial environment.
  • Strong experience delivering statutory and/or regulatory reporting change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex business or regulatory requirements and translate them into functional, data, and technology requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end change lifecycle, including requirements, functional design, testing, implementation, and production stabilization.
  • Experience performing impact assessments across reporting processes, systems, data, and controls.
  • Strong understanding of data flows, reconciliations, data quality, and reporting controls.
  • Experience managing UAT and supporting complex reporting implementations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage senior stakeholders and drive decisions across multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Hands-on functional or business analysis experience with Workiva and/or Axiom.
  • Experience implementing or changing regulatory and statutory reports using these platforms.
  • Experience with reporting workflow, automation, data integration, and controls.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis, data mapping, or data lineage would be advantageous.
  • Experience with reporting transformation programs involving automation and process redesign.
  • Experience working across global reporting jurisdictions and multiple legal entities.
  • Familiarity with banking regulatory reporting frameworks and prudential or financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence for requirements and change management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
