WE'RE BUILDING A NEW HEALTHCARE CLEARINGHOUSE

Stedi is the only headless clearinghouse and RCM engine. Headless means every part of our product is accessible via API. Developers and AI agents build their own interface on top of it. By offering modern, AI-ready APIs alongside traditional real-time and batch EDI processes, we enable both healthcare technology businesses and established players to exchange mission-critical transactions. Our clearinghouse product and customer-first approach have set us apart. Stedi was ranked by Ramp https://ramp.com/data/top-saas-vendors-on-ramp-march-2026 as one of the fastest-growing SaaS vendors.

Stedi has lightning in a bottle: engineers and designers shipping products week in and week out; a lean business team supporting the company's infrastructure; a passion for automation and eliminating toil; and $142 million in funding from top investors like Stripe, Addition, USV, Bloomberg Beta, First Round Capital, and more.

To see what we ship, watch the 2026 Stedi Keynote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxyCUNAr9Y8. To learn more about how we work, watch our founder Zack's interview with First Round Capital https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO6sR-i5rSs.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re hiring an Accounting Manager to own Stedi’s monthly close and day-to-day accounting operations as the business continues to scale. You will report directly to the Controller and be responsible for general ledger accuracy, timely financial reporting, and the accounting processes and controls that support them.

Stedi’s accounting function is already built around integrated systems, automation, and AI. A major part of this role is building on that foundation as the business and team grow. You will standardize and document workflows, establish clear responsibilities and review procedures, and strengthen controls so accounting processes remain reliable and repeatable as transaction volume and complexity increase.

We expect you to understand how transactions flow through our systems, from underlying data through final reporting. You will evaluate how our existing systems and workflows support the business, identify where they need to evolve, and use modern tools and AI to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with sound judgment and a builder’s mindset. You can independently investigate accounting questions, document conclusions, and translate them into practical procedures. You take responsibility for understanding how work gets done, determining what needs to change, and driving improvements through implementation while maintaining a high bar for day-to-day execution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Own the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and general ledger integrity and accuracy.

- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including P2P, T&E, and payroll accounting.

- Prepare and analyze financial reporting and supporting schedules, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations of financial results.

- Develop and maintain accounting policies, research accounting questions, and document conclusions. Partner with the Controller on complex transactions and translate accounting decisions into practical procedures.

- Build and improve accounting processes and internal controls as the business scales. Turn manual and undocumented workflows into clear procedures, with defined ownership, reliable supporting documentation, and repeatable execution.

- Identify opportunities to automate workflows and enhance financial systems, and drive implementation to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations.

- Support cross-functional teams with clear guidance, strong communication, and a practical approach to operational issue resolution.

- Lead the preparation of audit workpapers and supporting schedules, coordinate auditor requests, and serve as a day-to-day point of contact for external auditors in partnership with the Controller.

WHO YOU ARE

- You have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at a high-growth, early-stage, or rapidly scaling organization.

- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and Big 4 experience preferred.

- You have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and can interpret complex financial data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

- You have strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and can independently research accounting questions, apply guidance, and document well-supported conclusions.

- You are highly technical and look for opportunities to automate workflows, work directly with underlying data, and use modern tools and AI to build financial systems that are faster, more reliable, and less dependent on manual processes.

- You thrive in ambiguity, create structure from chaos, and can independently design scalable processes and systems from scratch.

- You are relentless and resourceful. When something doesn’t reconcile, or an answer doesn’t make sense, you keep going until you understand why.

- You move fast and operate with precision. You thrive in an environment where clarity, accountability, and urgency matter.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
