Position Overview

The Construction Project Manager (CM-PM) provides onsite construction project management support for Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades and related construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects at Veterans Affairs Medical Facilities. Serving as an extension of the Government's project team, the CM-PM supports project planning, scheduling, coordination, construction administration, and closeout activities within an active healthcare environment.

The CM-PM focuses on project scheduling, General Contractor (GC) schedule tracking, coordination, and milestone management. Working collaboratively with VA personnel, clinical staff, IT/EHRM teams, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, the CM-PM helps ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with VA standards while minimizing disruption to patient care and hospital operations.

  • Employees are expected to report to the designated work location during scheduled work hours.
  • Any required travel is the employee's responsibility and is not compensated unless otherwise required by applicable law.
  • The company does not provide a company vehicle. Employees must use their own transportation when travel is required.

Key Responsibilties

The Construction Project Manager is expected to:

  • Monitor the General Contractor’s master project schedule and milestone progress, reviewing schedule updates to identify delays, sequencing conflicts, and risks early, and support schedule forecasting and recovery planning.
  • Provide schedule status updates and project status reports to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), VA stakeholders, and company leadership, and submit all required reports and deliverables accurately, completely, and on time.
  • Review and track submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change orders for schedule impacts, coordination considerations, and contract compliance, and maintain daily reports, progress photos, meeting minutes, and organized, audit-ready project files.
  • Coordinate with VA staff, clinical personnel, IT/EHRM teams, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain project progress, including facilitating weekly progress meetings, distributing minutes, and tracking action items through resolution.
  • Coordinate construction phasing to minimize disruption to hospital operations, clinical services, and patient care, with consideration for patient safety, infection control, and the challenges of construction in occupied facilities.
  • Serve as the onsite representative supporting the VA and COR, operating in an oversight and administrative role without directing contractors unless explicitly authorized.
  • Conduct daily and weekly site inspections, verify installed work meets VA design standards and project requirements, and document deficiencies and track them to timely resolution.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to safety plans, OSHA requirements, and VA-specific requirements, including Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), Pre-Construction Risk Assessment (PCRA), and Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), and immediately report safety concerns or incidents.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
