The posting

The Robot Simulation Engineer performs robot simulation engineering work in support of manufacturing feasibility, design verification, and execution readiness using Siemens Process Simulate. The role requires an intimate, hands-on command of Process Simulate, including setup and validation of Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) and associated virtual controllers, to support robot process feasibility, design verification, and execution validation across BIW manufacturing programs. The Engineer is expected to independently execute assigned simulation work from specification through completion, applying established robot simulation and robot programming specifications and resolving routine simulation issues without requiring ongoing direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate robot simulation studies using Siemens Process Simulate
  • Set up and configure Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) and associated controllers for manufacturer-specific robot platforms
  • Validate robot reach, access, clearances, and general cycle feasibility
  • Perform feasibility, bid review, design verification, and change impact simulations
  • Review and validate supplier-provided robot simulation studies
  • Independently complete assigned simulation tasks across assigned programs, applying established robot simulation and robot programming specifications
  • Support robot model selection, payload assumptions, and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) feasibility
  • Identify simulation risks, gaps, or non-compliance, resolving routine issues independently and escalating significant risks
  • Interface with manufacturer-specific robot controllers (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Comau, Nachi) for offline program validation
  • Support robot process, design, and safety simulation reviews, including robot controller-based functional safety configuration
  • Maintain robot simulation data within Teamcenter and other established engineering data management systems
  • Provide technical assistance for robot-related quotes and supplier simulation deliverables

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in robotic simulation, including Siemens Process Simulate
  • Demonstrated, intimate working knowledge of Process Simulate, including Robot Controller Simulation (RCS) setup and robot controller personalities configuration
  • Robot programming experience across manufacturer-specific controller platforms
  • Knowledge of robotic process applications (e.g., Spot Weld, Arc Weld, Stud Weld, Material Handling, Dispense)
  • Knowledge and practical application of industry robot safety standards, including robot controller-based functional safety (e.g., safety-rated I/O, safety zones, model safety geometry)
  • Ability to independently execute assigned simulation tasks from specification through completion with minimal oversight
  • Experience with Teamcenter and other established engineering data management systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with legacy simulation platforms (e.g., Delmia, Robcad)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and NX
  • Familiarity with Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) or prior WCT methodologies
  • 10+ years of experience in robotic simulation, including Siemens Process Simulate

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
