What we offer

In this role, you’ll lead a key production area within SAMI’s advanced manufacturing facility focused on panelized and modular construction. You’ll build and guide a skilled team, help establish production processes, and drive operational excellence in a highly innovative, technology-driven environment.

You’ll play a critical role in scaling production, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring high-quality delivery of structural building components.

Facility shift hours are 6:30am to 5:00pm, four (4) days/week (Monday to Thursday).

What you’ll do

  • Lead daily operations across panel production lines and modular assembly areas, ensuring production targets, quality, and safety standards are met
  • Direct and support a team of skilled trades, machine operators, assemblers, and general labourers; oversee task allocation, performance, and attendance, fostering accountability
  • Supervise production activities to ensure efficient flow of work across panel fabrication, structural assembly, staging, and material handling
  • Ensure adherence to production sequencing and schedules, coordinating priorities based on project timelines and plant capacity
  • Oversee production processes such as cutting, framing, sheathing, fastening, material integration, and modular assembly in accordance with established work instructions
  • Maintain quality standards throughout production, identifying and resolving defects or inconsistencies in panel or modular assemblies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production planning, engineering, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure alignment of materials, workflow, and production readiness
  • Support production ramp-up, commissioning, and process stabilization for new equipment, lines, or product types
  • Initiate and manage rework or reproduction activities to meet customer delivery timelines and maintain production flow
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production processes, equipment usage, and safety requirements
  • Track and report key production metrics such as throughput, efficiency, downtime, labour utilization, and first-pass quality
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing production flow, reducing waste, and improving productivity in a panelized environment
  • Train and onboard new team members, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration
  • Implement and support cross-training programs across production areas to build workforce flexibility and operational resilience
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring

  • Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, prefabrication, or construction-related production environments, ideally in a supervisory or lead role
  • Strong understanding of panelized or modular construction, building components, or structural assembly (e.g., walls, floors, roof systems)
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including drawings, shop drawings, production orders, and specifications
  • Familiarity with MES/ERP systems for production tracking, reporting, and workflow management
  • Experience developing SOPs and training materials to standardize processes and ensure safety and quality compliance
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and collaborate across departments
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment

Bonus Points

  • Diploma or certificate in Manufacturing, Construction Technology, Wood Products, or a related field preferred
  • Experience with panelized construction, modular assembly, or prefabricated building components
  • Experience working in automated or robotics-enabled manufacturing environments

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
