Starting Salary: $25.45–$30.54 hourly depending on experience and budget considerations.

Why You Should Consider a Career as a Right of Way Representative:

Meaningful Work: You’ll support the delivery of public infrastructure projects that strengthen transportation systems and improve daily life for residents.

Employees may also qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Collaborative Environment: Work closely with appraisers, engineers, attorneys, and other professionals who approach right of way acquisition with confidence, accuracy, and a shared dedication to public service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research right‑of‑way projects by reviewing legal property descriptions, plats, surveys, deeds, maps, and other records to determine ownership.
  • Conduct meetings with property owners; prepare documentation for acquiring right‑of‑ways; present compensation offers; schedule follow‑ups until agreements are reached; and resolve disputes.
  • Prepare and evaluate bids for appraisers; award contracts; and review appraisers’ reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with disposal of excess acquisition properties; review leases; and coordinate property management.
  • Testify at condemnation proceedings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of experience in property appraisal or acquisition with a public or private agency, plus coursework in property appraisal.

Valid Driver’s License.

All candidates will receive notifications regarding application status once determined. Status updates are provided via email and can be found within each candidate’s Workday profile.

Responses that qualified candidates provide to the application questions will count as 100% of their final evaluation score. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. The five highest-ranking candidates will be referred to the Department Director/Appointing Authority for final selection.

Pre-Employment Screening:

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
