Since 1965, Stoneridge has designed and manufactured advanced, award-winning technologies including driveline and transmission actuation systems, vision systems, emissions control systems, safety systems, and security and monitoring systems for vehicle OEMs in the commercial vehicle, automotive, off-highway and agricultural vehicle markets. We’re focused on the areas of greatest market need – both today and tomorrow. Our core products and technologies are aligned with industry megatrends including safety and security, vehicle intelligence, fuel efficiency and emissions. Join the Stoneridge Team as we continue to build upon our strong history and reputation for quality products to deliver innovative products and systems that address a need, exceed our customers’ expectations, and motivate our team.

Objective of the position

As a Cybersecurity Engineer within the Global Engineering and Innovation team at Stoneridge Electronics, you will be responsible for driving cybersecurity development and engineering processes and ensuring the implementation of cybersecurity requirements across software and hardware architectures.

You will collaborate closely with product owners and other engineering teams across multiple customer projects, aligning diverse competencies and ensuring compliance with relevant automotive standards and internal development guidelines.

A key product in this business unit is MirrorEye®, an innovative camera-based replacement for traditional truck rearview mirrors. The system enables advanced vehicle functions such as object detection, and you will contribute to the development of these next-generation automotive innovations.

Characterization of activities

  • Perform focused cybersecurity analyses such as TARA, interface risk assessments, and security concept reviews for vehicle systems and components.
  • Translate identified threats and risks into technical cybersecurity requirements, supporting compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE R155.
  • Work hands‑on with development teams to verify correct implementation of cybersecurity mechanisms and controls.
  • Support incident response, vulnerability handling, and post‑development monitoring activities as required by automotive cybersecurity regulations.
  • Contribute expert input to the wider vehicle cybersecurity community, strengthening product robustness and compliance.

Education, experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product cybersecurity, including cybersecurity or safety management processes.
  • Proven experience implementing ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE R155 / R156, with solid knowledge of cryptographic algorithms (e.g. RSA, AES, SHA, CMAC, GMAC).
  • Strong understanding of security risk management, compliance, policies, and standards, preferably in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with automotive product development lifecycles; experience with hardware/software security, HSM, SHE, secure boot, or secure updates is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent English, proactive mindset, and strong willingness to learn; cybersecurity training or certifications (e.g. CSCAC) and exposure to RED 2022/53/EU or penetration testing are advantageous.

What we offer

  • Salary based on knowledge and experience.
  • Full-time employment of 40 hours per week.
  • 8% holiday allowance.
  • Travel allowance home-work: 23ct per kilometers one way up to a maximum of 50 km
  • CAO: Metalektro HP
  • Retirement: PME (Pensioenfonds Metalektro).
  • WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
  • PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
