Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The SMB Commercial team is a highly consultative sales team responsible for growing Stripe’s relationships with high-profile, high-growth SMB customers and businesses across the broader Commercial segment. We work with ambitious and fast-growing companies, helping them use Stripe’s payments and financial infrastructure to unlock new revenue streams, scale their operations, and pursue new growth opportunities.

What you’ll do

As an Account Executive, you’ll manage a portfolio spanning high-profile SMB customers and the broader Commercial segment. You’ll own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and closing new business to managing existing relationships and identifying opportunities to expand Stripe’s footprint.

You’ll execute account and sales strategies, engage internal and external stakeholders, align technical and business requirements with product teams, demonstrate value in competitive situations, lead commercial negotiations, and close deals.

Responsibilities

  • Work with existing SMB and Commercial Stripe customers to develop and execute long-term strategies that expand Stripe’s revenue and impact.
  • Own the full sales cycle, from business-case development, deal structuring, and negotiation through to close and activation.
  • Own a named account list and develop account plans to win and expand business with high-growth technology companies.
  • Develop targeted outbound strategies to create and nurture new opportunities across your portfolio.
  • Drive deal strategy and commercial negotiations for large or complex new business opportunities, expansions, and renewals.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders across your book of business.
  • Map accounts and coordinate effective meetings with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders to deepen and expand customer relationships.
  • Navigate opportunities of varying size and complexity, balancing velocity across the broader Commercial segment with a highly consultative approach for high-profile SMB accounts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align customers’ technical and business requirements with Stripe’s products and capabilities.
  • Lead and contribute to team projects that develop and refine our sales processes and help shape Stripe’s sales culture.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably selling a highly technical product, with a track record of strong performance.
  • Experience managing a varied portfolio and progressing opportunities with different levels of size, complexity, and sales-cycle length.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and craft solutions across multiple products.
  • Ability to develop and execute account plans spanning multiple business units within complex organisations.
  • A knack for working effectively with a wide range of people, both internally and externally.
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly for in-person meetings involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead complex negotiations involving bespoke commercial agreements.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interest in technology and a deep understanding of the space.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
