About the role

Join Strohm as Our Next Finance Controller!

Ready to turn your accounting and IFRS expertise into a broader Financial Controller role?

As our Financial Controller at Strohm, you play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and high-quality financial reporting across our international organization. You combine strong accounting and IFRS knowledge with a hands-on approach to financial control, audit and continuous improvement.

This is a broad controlling role within an international, project-driven manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with the Finance Director, CFO, FP&A, Project Control and other stakeholders across the business. As our Finance Controller you also provide day-to-day guidance and quality review to colleagues within AP/AR and Assistant Financial Control (2.8 FTE).

The role is particularly suited to a finance professional with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, for example within external audit or assurance, who is ready to take broader ownership within an international business environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and support monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting, including IFRS-compliant financial statements, reporting schedules and accounting position papers.
  • Own balance sheet control by performing reconciliations, reviewing accounting entries, accruals, provisions and period-end estimates, and ensuring timely follow-up of open items.
  • Act as a key contact for external auditors, coordinating audit requests and documentation, and support tax compliance together with internal and external specialists.
  • Support consolidation, intercompany accounting and reporting for international entities while ensuring consistent and accurate financial information.
  • Strengthen the financial control environment by maintaining and improving internal controls, finance processes, ERP/reporting solutions and automation.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and quality review for AP/AR and Assistant Financial Control activities, while supporting the Finance Director and wider Finance team with financial analyses and ad-hoc reporting.

What you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Economics or a related field, combined with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably within external audit/assurance;
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, financial closing, statutory reporting, audit and balance sheet control. A Dutch RA qualification, completed or in progress, is a strong advantage;
  • The ability to analyse complex accounting matters, apply sound financial judgement and translate them into practical accounting treatment and clear documentation;
  • Strong Excel skills and affinity with financial systems; experience with ERP, consolidation and/or reporting systems is preferred;
  • A proactive, accurate and hands-on approach. You take ownership, work effectively under reporting deadlines and look for opportunities to improve processes and controls;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and guide junior colleagues;
  • Professional proficiency in English is required; Dutch is an advantage.

Experience within an international, project-driven or manufacturing environment is an advantage. Above all, you bring integrity, curiosity and the ability to thrive in a growing and changing organization.

Why join us?

  • Salary between €4.500,- and €5.500,- (40 hours) based on your experience and qualifications;
  • 32 days of paid leave per year (based on 40 hours week);
  • Strohm’s Pension plan;
  • Discounted gym membership;
  • Bike lease plan through the company;
  • Commuting allowance or NS Business Card;
  • Company-provided phone;
  • Hybrid working model (office and home-based).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
