Job Description:

Position Summary

The Human Sciences & Design (HSD) Student Worker for Social Media & Marketing will support the department's marketing and communication efforts by creating and maintaining engaging content across multiple digital platforms. This position will assist with promoting HSD events, enhancing departmental visibility, and ensuring accurate and timely communication with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external audiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the management and updating of HSD social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.

• Coordinate promotion of departmental events and activities through various communication channels and social media platforms.

• Create, schedule, and publish content that aligns with departmental goals, university policies, and university branding standards.

• Maintain a consistent posting schedule and ensure social media platforms contain current and accurate information.

• Develop and design digital content templates for HSD TV monitors and other communication displays while adhering to Baylor University Marketing & Communications guidelines.

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and cross-functional teams across HSD to gather information and promote programs, events, student achievements, and departmental initiatives.

• Ensure all posted content is accurate, timely, and reflective of current departmental activities.

• Assist with basic graphic design, photography, and event coverage as needed.

• Monitor engagement and provide recommendations for improving audience reach and communication effectiveness.

• Perform other marketing and communications-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Current Baylor University student in good academic standing.

• Familiarity with major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating content for social media or marketing campaigns.

• Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar programs.

• Familiarity with Baylor University brand standards and marketing guidelines.

• Experience coordinating events and promotional activities.

• Ability to create visually appealing marketing materials and digital displays.
