About the role

Includa Education Group is looking for a caring, motivated and qualified Therapeutic Teacher to join our primary-age SEMH provision at Re:Link, supporting children in Key Stage 2 (KS2).

You will deliver engaging, child-centred 1:1 and small-group sessions, supporting children to achieve their individual learning, development and EHCP outcomes. Working alongside the Head of Provision, Head of Wellbeing & Development, Occupational Therapist and wider team, you will help create a safe, nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, emotional resilience and independence.

You will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience supporting primary-age children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed, attachment-aware and relational practice, alongside a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and build positive relationships with education.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Therapeutic Support:

  • Deliver personalised 1:1 and small-group learning sessions for KS2 pupils.
  • Implement individual EHCP outcomes through meaningful learning and wellbeing activities.
  • Deliver structured activities, including talk-and-draw and Lego-based therapy, following appropriate training and supervision.
  • Support community-based learning to develop life skills, confidence and social communication.
  • Build positive relationships and support emotional regulation using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
  • Support pupils during mealtimes and provide personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent, child-centred support.

Assessment and Recording:

  • Monitor and record pupil engagement, progress and daily observations using the Re:Link app.
  • Gather evidence for AQA Unit Award Scheme Certificates and ensure curriculum outcomes are completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Complete half-termly progress snapshots, including EHCP outcomes, on the NurturED Hub platform alongside the Head of Provision.
  • Contribute to end-of-provision assessments and child development reviews.
  • Prepare and adapt resources to meet individual learning and communication needs.

Safeguarding and Professional Responsibilities

  • Undertake Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) responsibilities, supporting the reporting and management of safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and follow safeguarding and organisational procedures.
  • Attend safeguarding and behaviour briefings, team debriefs and planning meetings.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and calming learning environment.
  • Contribute to half-termly child development meetings, reviewing progress against curriculum and EHCP outcomes.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), this is essential for the role.
  • Has experience working with primary-age children with SEMH needs and/or additional SEND.
  • Can deliver engaging, personalised learning and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Understands trauma-informed, attachment-aware and relational practice.
  • Can build trusting relationships and support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Has strong observation, assessment, recording and organisational skills.
  • Can work collaboratively with education, therapeutic and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Is patient, resilient, compassionate and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

We can offer you:

  • A rewarding role making a meaningful difference to primary-age children with SEMH needs.
  • The opportunity to work alongside experienced education and therapeutic professionals.
  • Opportunities for training, supervision and professional development.
  • A supportive team committed to child-centred, trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice.
  • The opportunity to help children develop confidence, resilience, independence and a positive relationship with learning.

If you are a qualified teacher with QTS and are passionate about supporting primary-age children with SEMH needs, we would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
