Are you passionate about solving complex technical challenges while helping power critical energy market operations? Join Hitachi Energy as a Senior Platform Software Engineer and become part of a team that develops and supports the software platforms behind industry-leading Energy Market Management solutions.

In this role, you'll work on enterprise-scale systems that support some of the most important energy market applications in the industry. You'll have the opportunity to design, enhance, and maintain platform software that enables reliable, secure, and high-performing operations for customers around the world. Working alongside talented engineers, architects, and application teams, you'll provide technical leadership, troubleshoot challenging problems, improve platform reliability, and support the delivery of innovative software solutions. How you'll make an impact

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise platform applications using Java technologies.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot platform deployments to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with project and application teams to deliver platform capabilities.
  • Design and implement software enhancements, upgrades, and bug fixes.
  • Support regression testing activities across standalone and highly available environments.
  • Apply cybersecurity controls and best practices throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate platform documentation and technical standards.
  • Partner with application engineers and customers to diagnose and resolve complex issues.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Java EE, Servlets, JSP, and JDBC.
  • Experience with application servers such as Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments, scripting languages, and enterprise software deployments.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL, PL/SQL, and large-scale application troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and customer-facing problem-solving skills.
