The posting

SummitNext is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting & Finance Intern to support our Finance team with day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. This is a remote internship offering hands-on exposure to real finance operations in a BPO environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Support

  • Assist with recording daily transactions and journal entries.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable processing.
  • Help prepare and verify invoices, bills, and payment records.
  • Assist with bank and account reconciliations.

2. Documentation & Records

  • Organise and maintain digital financial records and supporting documents.
  • Ensure invoices, receipts, and claims are complete and properly filed.
  • Follow up on missing or incomplete documents.

3. Reporting Support

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and summaries.
  • Update spreadsheets and trackers accurately.
  • Support month-end closing activities.

4. Expense & Claims

  • Review employee expense claims against supporting documents.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding payments and claims.

5. General Finance Support

  • Assist with audit and compliance documentation.
  • Support finance projects and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (B.Com/M.Com), or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Tally, QuickBooks, Xero) is an advantage.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Own laptop and stable internet connection.
