Job Description

We're looking for a motivated Business Development Consultant to play a key role in supporting business growth, customer retention, and operational excellence within a dynamic insurance environment.

In this role, you'll work closely with customers, intermediaries, and internal teams to provide expert advice, support policy transactions, identify sales opportunities, and contribute to the ongoing success of our business.

About the Role

As a Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting sales and customer retention strategies while ensuring an outstanding customer experience. You'll act as a trusted partner to customers and intermediaries, providing policy and underwriting support, managing relationships, and helping drive profitable business growth.

You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where customer focus, collaboration, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, intermediaries, and key stakeholders to support customer retention and business growth.
  • Identify and maximise sales opportunities by providing tailored insurance solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Deliver timely and accurate policy, underwriting, and product advice while supporting policy administration and processing activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient issue resolution, and positive customer outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, process efficiencies, and achievement of business performance targets.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards while supporting a positive team culture.

About You

  • Proven experience in business development, account management, insurance (commercial or rural), or a customer-focused sales environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and engage customers, intermediaries, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to provide advice and deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to identify growth opportunities and support business objectives.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with experience using CRM, insurance, or policy management systems being an advantage.
