The posting

Join Us in Building the Future of Home Robotics

At Sunday, we're developing personal robots to reclaim the hours lost to repetitive tasks. We're focused on an ambitious goal to make generalized robots broadly accessible, enabling households to take back quality time.

We have spent the last 18 months building a talented team, securing capital, and validating our technology. We are now seeking passionate individuals to join us in the next phase of our growth. If you are ready to apply your skills to the forefront of robotics innovation, we’d love to hear from you.

What to Expect

Sunday is putting robots into homes — around kids, pets, furniture, and families who haven't lived with a robot before. No regulatory body has defined what "safe" means for a home robot yet. We're defining it ourselves, and our brand depends on getting it right. You'll be our first product manager dedicated to trust and safety. You'll own the safety and privacy requirements for Memo end to end: what we test, what we promise users, and what we refuse to ship. You'll work across robot software, hardware, controls, ML, app, design, and operations to make safety a property of the whole system, not one team's checklist.

What You'll Do

- Own the safety and trust roadmap for Memo. Define what "safe enough to ship" means for each release, and hold the line on it.

- Build the system-level safety case. Map failure modes across navigation, hardware, controls, task design, firmware, and user communications, and make sure each has an owner, a test, and a mitigation.

- Work with engineering to define and track safety test coverage for every subsystem. Ensure firmware and software releases are validated against safety requirements before OTA.

- Own data privacy for the product: what Memo records in the home, who can see it (including teleoperators), how long it's kept, and how users understand and control it.

- Design how Memo behaves and communicates around kids, pets, and unexpected situations — stop conditions, warnings, recovery, and what the app tells users.

- Set standards where none exist. Draw on adjacent industries (consumer durables, home fitness equipment, new category products, appliances) to build a safety framework fit for a home robot — without importing process that doesn't apply.

- Run incident review. When something goes wrong in a home or the office, lead the investigation, root cause, and the change that follows.

- Partner with product operations to turn real-home observations into safety requirements.

- Define and track safety metrics: incidents per robot-hour, near-misses, test coverage by subsystem, time-to-mitigation.

What You'll Bring

- 3+ years in product, safety, or quality roles on physical consumer products people touch and live with — think new category products, home fitness equipment, power tools, kitchen appliances, or similar. You've shipped hardware into homes where the standards were thin and you had to set them.

- Not required: automotive, aerospace, or medical device background. While this is nice to have, we're looking for judgment in lightly regulated spaces, not fluency in pre-existing regulatory frameworks.

- Detail-oriented. You read the test report, not the summary. You notice the edge case nobody listed.

- Fast technical learner. You can pick up how a navigation stack, a controller, or a firmware release process works well enough to ask the right questions and spot gaps.

- Strong judgment and a deep sense of responsibility. You'll make calls that affect families, and you treat that seriously. You're comfortable being the person who says "not yet."

- Experience working with engineers on test plans, failure analysis, or release gating.

- Familiarity with data privacy principles for connected consumer devices (cameras, in-home sensors).

- Comfort with ambiguity at an early-stage company. You can write the first version of a safety standard that doesn't exist yet.

- Bonus: experience with consumer product safety standards (ASTM, UL, CPSC), in-home cameras or robots, or incident/recall processes.

What success looks like in 6 months

- Memo has a written, system-level safety framework with owners and test coverage for every subsystem, used as a release gate.

- Every firmware/software release passes a defined safety validation before OTA.

- Data privacy policy for in-home recording and teleop is defined, implemented in the app, and understandable to users.

- An incident review process is running, and beta learnings are feeding back into requirements.

- Product, hardware, and engineering leads treat the T&S PM as the owner of "is this safe to ship."

At Sunday Robotics, we’re building technology shaped by real people — curious, creative, and diverse. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. Studies show that women and underrepresented groups often hold back unless they meet 100% of the criteria — we don’t want that to be the reason we miss out on great talent.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
