About the Role

Sunniva Heatpumps is hiring a Brazing Technician for its factory at Asangaon, Shahapur, Maharashtra, which manufactures air-source, water-source and high-temperature industrial heat pumps. The role involves brazing copper tubing and components used in heat pump condenser/evaporator assembly, refrigeration circuits and related fabrication work.

Location: Factory - Asangaon, Shahapur, Maharashtra Reports to: Production Supervisor / Factory Manager Job Type: Full-time, factory-based

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform brazing (silver/copper-phosphorus brazing) of copper tubes, joints and fittings used in heat pump refrigeration circuits, condensers and evaporators
  • Read and interpret job cards, drawings and work orders to identify joint locations, pipe sizes and brazing specifications
  • Set up and operate oxy-acetylene/oxy-LPG torches and related brazing equipment safely
  • Carry out pre-cleaning, fluxing, fit-up and post-braze cleaning of joints
  • Conduct visual inspection of brazed joints and carry out leak/pressure testing as required
  • Rework or re-braze joints that fail inspection or pressure testing
  • Maintain brazing equipment, gas cylinders and tools, and report faults or low stock to the supervisor
  • Follow safety protocols for handling gas cylinders, open flame and refrigerant lines
  • Maintain daily production and quality records as per the QC checklist
  • Coordinate with the fabrication and assembly teams to meet daily production targets

Requirements / Qualifications

  • ITI (Welder/Fitter/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic) or equivalent trade certification preferred; candidates with proven hands-on brazing experience and no formal certificate may also be considered
  • 1-4 years of hands-on brazing experience, preferably in HVAC, refrigeration, heat pump or related sheet metal/fabrication industries
  • Experience brazing copper-to-copper and copper-to-brass joints of varying diameters
  • Basic ability to read technical drawings and job cards
  • Willing to work in a factory/shop-floor environment at Asangaon, Shahapur
  • Physically fit for standing work, handling gas cylinders and working near open flame

Skills

  • Hands-on proficiency with oxy-acetylene/oxy-LPG brazing torches and filler rods
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail for leak-free, uniform joints
  • Basic troubleshooting of brazing defects (porosity, blow-holes, weak joints)
  • Awareness of workplace safety practices around gas cylinders and flame operations
  • Ability to work as part of a production team and meet daily targets
  • Basic Hindi/Marathi communication skills; willingness to learn company-specific processes
