Job Summary: The Senior Manager, Pricing & Profitability leads SunOpta's enterprise pricing strategy, governance, and profitability analytics. This role partners closely with Commercial, R&D, Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure pricing decisions reflect current costs, market dynamics, and profitability objectives. As a key business partner, this position drives margin optimization, pricing excellence, process improvement, and automation initiatives that enable faster, data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role also leads and develops a high-performing pricing team while advancing scalable processes and analytical capabilities that support profitable growth. Essential Functions of the Job: Pricing Strategy & Governance
Lead enterprise pricing strategies that support profitable growth and margin expansion. Establish and maintain pricing methodologies, governance, tools, and processes to ensure consistent and disciplined pricing decisions. Oversee pricing models and cost analyses to ensure pricing accurately reflects ingredient, packaging, manufacturing, and freight cost trends. Lead annual, quarterly, and ad hoc pricing reviews and coordinate execution across stakeholders. Champion automation and process improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and decision-making speed. Present pricing recommendations, business cases, and profitability insights to senior leadership.
Profitability Analysis & Commercial Support
Lead customer, product, and channel profitability analyses to identify growth and margin improvement opportunities. Support customer negotiations, contract renewals, strategic bids, and new business opportunities through financial analysis and pricing recommendations. Oversee new item costing and pricing activities, including ingredient, manufacturing, packaging, and freight analyses. Develop reporting and analytical frameworks that improve visibility into pricing performance and profitability trends. Identify and drive profit improvement opportunities across the organization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Commercial, and Finance teams to gather and validate inputs supporting pricing decisions and customer quotations. Collaborate with R&D on product innovation, formulation changes, and specification updates that impact product costs and pricing. Monitor market, commodity, and cost trends to assess impacts on pricing and profitability. Facilitate cross-functional alignment to support timely, data-driven pricing decisions.
Business Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Leverage automation and analytics to simplify repeatable processes and enhance organizational responsiveness. Develop executive reporting, forecasting tools, dashboards, and financial models that support strategic decision-making. Lead initiatives focused on pricing excellence, margin improvement, and business process optimization. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Pricing Analysts. Establish performance expectations, development plans, and team objectives aligned with business priorities. Manage resource allocation, workload prioritization, and execution of key initiatives. Develop and retain high-performing talent while building organizational capabilities in pricing and profitability management.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field. 8+ years of progressive experience in pricing, commercial finance, FP&A, revenue management, profitability analysis, or related disciplines. Strong financial modeling, pricing strategy, and business analytics experience. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced business credential preferred. 3+ years of people leadership experience. Experience in food, beverage, ingredients, manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods industries. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and financial modeling tools. Experience with Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, Essbase, or similar enterprise systems. Experience implementing pricing, reporting, or automation solutions.

Travel Requirements: Up to 5% Location: Corporate Office, Eden Prairie, MN Work Environment: Approximately 100% of the work is performed in an office environment (whether remote or at SunOpta’s office).
