The posting

The Opportunity Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a Multimedia Designer to join our team and help make vacation dreams come true. Great ideas move. A strong edit can turn footage into feeling, and the right motion can make a brand recognizable before a word is read. The Studio is WestJet Group’s in-house creative team, working across WestJet, Sunwing, WestJet Vacations and SellOffVacations. We bring together writers, graphic designers, multimedia designers, creative leaders and project managers to create work across the full guest journey. As a Multimedia Designer, you’ll bring these brands to life through video editing, motion design and animation. Reporting to the Manager, Creative Brand and working closely with the Group Creative Director, writers, graphic designers, project managers and video-production partners, you’ll help shape work from early creative exploration and story development through editing, animation, finishing and final delivery. This is a hands-on video editing and motion-design role, but it is not a finishing-only role. You’ll contribute ideas, find the story in the material and develop motion systems that make campaigns more distinctive. Your work could be a six-second social cutdown, a national campaign, an airport screen, an onboard film or a piece of content people actively choose to watch. The Studio works as part of a wider creative ecosystem. Some projects are created entirely in-house, while others are developed with agency and production partners. In every case, the goal is the same: a strong idea, excellent craft and a coherent brand experience. Apply now and have your career soar to new heights - under our wing! What You’ll Do

Edit, animate and finish high-quality video and motion work for integrated brand and marketing campaigns across WestJet Group’s portfolio of brands. Collaborate with the Manager, Creative Brand, Group Creative Director, writers and graphic designers from the beginning of a brief to develop strong creative ideas built for motion. Shape stories from scripts, storyboards, raw footage, interviews, stills, graphics, music and sound, finding the clearest and most engaging way to bring an idea to life. Develop storyboards, style frames, animatics, edit approaches and motion treatments that help teams and partners understand the creative direction before production begins. Translate campaign concepts and static design systems into distinctive motion languages, including typography, transitions, graphic devices, end frames and animation behaviours. Create edits and motion graphics for channels that may include broadcast, paid social, organic social, digital, web, CRM, digital out-of-home, airport, onboard, sponsorship, experiential and internal communications. Build master edits and intelligently adapt them into multiple durations, aspect ratios, placements, languages and platform-specific versions. Combine live action, motion graphics, animation, typography, photography, illustration and stock footage in ways that feel intentional and cohesive. Select and shape music, sound effects and audio treatments that strengthen pacing, emotion and brand recognition. Perform colour correction, audio balancing, compositing, clean-up and other finishing work appropriate to the project, while knowing when specialist support is required. Create reusable motion templates, toolkits and production guidance that allow campaigns to scale consistently across teams and channels. Participate actively in creative reviews, presenting work and explaining editorial, animation and design choices with clarity and confidence. Respond constructively to feedback, helping partners move from broad reactions to clear decisions that improve the work. Partner with project managers to scope post-production needs, plan timelines, meet milestones, flag risks early and keep project information current in Monday.com. Advise production teams on footage, framing, formats and other capture requirements needed to support the intended edit and campaign deliverables. Support shoots and content production when appropriate, bringing a post-production perspective to planning, shot lists, storyboards and on-set decisions. Prepare technically accurate final files for every required platform, including captions, accessibility requirements, localization, legal supers, safe areas, codecs and quality control. Maintain organized project files, footage, graphics, audio, templates and archives so that work can be revised, versioned and reused efficiently. Collaborate with agency partners, editors, animators, sound designers, colourists, production companies and other specialists when required. Apply and evolve brand identities in motion, helping create a coherent experience while protecting what makes each WestJet Group brand distinctive. Contribute to the development of Studio tools, motion standards and more effective ways of working. Help build a creative culture grounded in curiosity, generosity, high standards and a shared desire to make work people want to watch.

What You’ll Need

5+ years of relevant experience in video editing, motion design, animation or multimedia design within a creative agency, production company, in-house studio or similarly fast-moving creative environment. A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating visual storytelling, editorial judgment, motion-design craft and the ability to carry an idea across multiple formats and channels. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Media Encoder. Excellent understanding of editing fundamentals, including story structure, pacing, continuity, music, sound and performance. Strong motion-design skills, including typography, composition, keyframing, transitions, graphic animation and the development of cohesive motion systems. Demonstrated experience creating integrated campaign work and adapting master creative into platform-appropriate durations, dimensions and deliverables. A solid understanding of post-production workflows, including media management, codecs, colour, audio, captions, exports, version control and quality assurance. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain creative thinking to both creative and non-creative partners. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and external production partners. Strong visual storytelling skills and the ability to think in stories, sequences, rhythm, sound and transitions. Strong attention to craft, including pacing, composition, typography, sound, colour and transitions. A collaborative, curious and low-ego approach, with the ability to receive feedback, explain creative choices and focus on making the work stronger. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage complex project files, multiple versions and competing deadlines. Experience with DaVinci Resolve, Audition, Cinema 4D, Blender or other colour, audio or 3D tools is considered an asset. Experience with Figma and the animation of digital-product or interface elements is considered an asset. Experience using Monday.com or a comparable project-management platform is considered an asset. Experience supporting live-action production, directing content capture or working on set is considered an asset. Experience working across multiple brands or within a large, matrixed organization is considered an asset.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
