Job Overview

We are looking for a detailed-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our finance department. In this role, you will assist with daily accounting tasks, including processing invoices, performing bank reconciliations, managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), and supporting month-end closing procedures.

The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, a good foundation in bookkeeping or accounting principles, and proficiency in standard accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable (AP) & Receivable (AR)

  • Process vendor invoices, ensure proper verification/approvals, and prepare payment batches.
  • Issue customer invoices, follow up on outstanding payments, and monitor aging receivables.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing/invoice discrepancies promptly.

2. Bookkeeping & Day-to-Day Operations

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and track cash flow movements.
  • Prepare, verify, and record staff expense claims and petty cash disbursements.
  • Maintain accurate, organized financial records and documentation for audit compliance.

3. Month-End Support & Financial Reporting

  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including schedule preparation and journal entries.
  • Help reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet items.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team during external audits.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or working towards an accounting qualification such as ACCA/LCCI).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of hands-on bookkeeping or general accounting experience (fresh graduates with relevant internships are welcome to apply).
  • Key Competencies:
  • High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, trial balance).
  • Integrity and strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial data.
