You will also support the development of other Auditors through the delivery process and contribute to continuous improvement of audit delivery and Quality & Compliance processes when required. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field of relevant studies (agriculture, agronomy, soil science, environmental science, forestry, ecology, environmental engineering or related disciplines).
  • Minimum of 7+ years' relevant professional experience, preferably within a VVB/DOE, assurance organization or carbon standards auditing environment.
  • Currently or previously qualified as an auditor, validator, verifier, technical expert, team leader, lead auditor or technical reviewer for carbon projects under recognized standards.
  • Proven hands-on experience leading or delivering validation, verification or audit work for carbon projects, GHG projects or Scope 3 / value chain intervention projects.
  • Proven experience with GHG accounting and reporting standards and frameworks such as ISO 14064 series, ISO 14065, ISO 14066, ISO 14067, ISO/IEC 17029, GHG Protocol, Verra/VCS, Gold Standard, CDM or Article 6.4.
  • Strong AFOLU expertise, with a primary focus on agriculture, Agricultural Land Management, regenerative agriculture, livestock, dairy, crops, soil carbon, nitrogen dynamics and farm-level practices.
  • Deep knowledge of commonly used AFOLU and Agricultural Land Management methodologies and tools, including Verra VM0042 and VM0047; knowledge of equivalent VCS, Gold Standard or insetting methodologies is desirable.
  • Experience assessing quantification, monitoring and reporting of GHG emissions and removals, including sampling, uncertainty, baseline setting, additionality and data quality controls.
  • Experience in effectively communicating technical matters in customer-facing roles.
  • Experience project managing audit delivery as an audit lead.
  • Knowledge of environmental markets and/or corporate sustainability.
  • Strong written reporting skills, attention to detail, sound professional judgement and ability to work collectively with validation/verification team members.
  • Fluent professional English.
  • Working in a dynamic and agile organization excites you, and you feel comfortable with remote work.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience developing Auditors through delivery work (e.g. from Trainee to qualified).
  • Specific project experience in agriculture supply chains, insetting, value chain interventions, food sector programs or textile sector programs.
  • Additional languages relevant for client and fieldwork contexts, particularly Spanish, French or Portuguese.
  • Experience with ISO 14065, ISO/IEC 17029, ISO 14066, ISO 14067, ISO 14040/44, GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Guidance or related assurance standards.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Use auditing best-practice (inquiries, measurement, risk analysis, data management, evidence review, sampling, site/remote verification inputs, etc.) and sectoral technical expertise to produce GHG audit opinions.
  • Manage client relationships throughout the delivery process, including expectations, proactive communications, technical clarifications, escalation of risks and timely closure of findings.
  • Lead internal and external team members through the delivery process, coordinating audit teams, technical experts and reviewers as required.
  • Plan and deliver validation and verification audit services for insetting projects and related GHG reporting by checking projects against selected GHG methodologies/protocols.
  • Apply and interpret AFOLU with strong focus in Agricultural Land Management methodologies, including but not limited to VERRA VM0042 and VM0047, and equivalent carbon market or value chain intervention frameworks.
  • Prepare validation, verification and audit reports, including clear technical findings, non-conformities, risk assessments and evidence-based conclusions.
  • Assess project eligibility, baselines, monitoring plans, quantification approaches, sampling, uncertainty, leakage, additionality, data quality controls and reporting.
  • Successfully plan and deliver audits to ensure business performance (quality / time / resources) while complying with SustainCERT’s procedures and relevant ISO standards.
  • Support the ongoing professional development of team members throughout the delivery process, including delivery-based coaching and feedback.
  • Participation, as needed, in other business lines for similar type of GHG assessments such as Carbon Projects under relevant international standards (VCS, GS, Art.6.4, etc.), Product/Corporate Carbon Footprints, Emission Factor Validation and Verification, etc., focused in the AFOLU sector.
  • Support Quality & Compliance and relevant business process owners in maintaining and improving audit-delivery QMS documentation, including audit procedures, templates, checklists, controlled records and audit-planning inputs relevant to insetting.
  • Provide delivery-based technical input to accreditation, scheme expansion and sectoral scope extension activities, including practical implications of ISO 14065, ISO/IEC 17029, UNFCCC Article 6.4 and relevant carbon-standard requirements for audit execution.
  • Support the review and follow-up of audit-related internal audit findings, corrective actions, complaints, appeals and change-management cases, helping translate recurring issues into practical process improvements when required.
  • Contribute to internal lessons-learned and knowledge-capture activities by converting recurring audit risks, methodological interpretation issues and delivery learnings into practical inputs for QMS updates, guidance notes or knowledge-base materials.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
